Lyles cut Florida and hometown Butler from consideration. Scout.con ranks Lyles — a 6-foot-9 prospect — as the No. 7 overall player in the Class of 2014. He took an official visit to U of L last month and will make his official visit to Kentucky on Oct. 18 for Big Blue Madness. September 26, 201312 yr Author This is a kid we may want to keep a eye on. This is the period where college basketball coaches travel around for in-home visits and recruit their top targets. But at the same time, a lot of major Assistants go to second-level players and evaluate whether they can help their program. Along those lines, UK Assistants went to Cordia High School yesterday and saw Malik Hines play. Hines is a 6’9″ 2014 Power Forward who has Top 25-level Athleticism, but whose skill set is still under evaluation. He has offers from UNLV, UCONN, Mississippi State and Ole Miss, but top schools like Ohio State and Syracuse have evaluated him this week. He has just moved to Kentucky from Mississippi (where he played for the last three years) and now the Cats are clearly interested enough to take a visit. October 3, 201312 yr Would be huge to get Booker and Blackmon. Add a slasher and power forward and this class will be good to go, although not ranked as high as usual. Feels good to see some big time 3pt shooters targeted. Things are a lot easier when you can score the ball from deep, especially if you have any type of post play.
