September 20, 201312 yr Bill Self is the only thing from stopping UK from being a mega dynasty. Don't sleep on K at Duke or Miller at Arizona. Both are setting themselves up to be championship contenders for the foreseeable future. Same for Izzo, if he can get some one and done talent to mix with all his system guys they will be tough, they already are that would just take them next level. Dukes going to be very good this year, and with Jones and likely Okafor really good next year as well. Everybody's sleeping on Rodney Hood and even Jabari Parker because of Wiggins and Randle. If they can get any post play at all, with some serviceable pg play out of Cook they are very dangerous.

Seems like a Gerald Fitch type player, but with an NBA ready body.

Seems like most of these über kids are looking at UK and Kansas in 1-1 battles lately.
September 20, 201312 yr Coach K is still throwing in the 90s and Miller is out west. Seems like most of these über kids are looking at UK and Kansas in 1-1 battles lately. They are usually fighting over the same kids it seems like, but thats just because Duke has usually landed a couple of their big time guys who may not have really been looking at Kentucky, and same for Arizona. Miller is really tearing it up lately, especially with the wings and bigs. I mean Kentucky is fighting Arizona right now for Stanley Johnson who is one of the best in the class, and theoretically Duke for Okafor and Jones. UK and KU do have a lot of head to head battles for recruits, but to say a couple of these other schools aren't getting guys Calipari would like to get is unfair to them. More than just Kansas grabbing possible Kentucky recruits.
September 22, 201312 yr Like I said a few days ago re: Cliff Alexander; Alexander officially dropped UK tonight, he says "UK stopped recruiting him." Curious if that means Cal has just been focusing on Okafor, Lyles, Turner now. Also the JaQuan Lyle effect. Anyone who knows UK recruiting knows JaQuan Lyle just about despises UK for not offering him a scholarship.
September 22, 201312 yr This is a kid we may want to keep a eye on. This is the period where college basketball coaches travel around for in-home visits and recruit their top targets. But at the same time, a lot of major Assistants go to second-level players and evaluate whether they can help their program. Along those lines, UK Assistants went to Cordia High School yesterday and saw Malik Hines play. Hines is a 6’9″ 2014 Power Forward who has Top 25-level Athleticism, but whose skill set is still under evaluation. He has offers from UNLV, UCONN, Mississippi State and Ole Miss, but top schools like Ohio State and Syracuse have evaluated him this week. He has just moved to Kentucky from Mississippi (where he played for the last three years) and now the Cats are clearly interested enough to take a visit. Bb Recruiting | Kentucky Sports Radio
September 23, 201312 yr Author Trey Lyles says on Twitter that he is announcing something tomorrow. I guess it's possible it's not a school but not sure what else he would be announcing. Add in UK stopping with Alexander and it seems logical it's Lyles.

I can't think of what else it might be. Not sure what it is either, but doesn't look like it is going to be his college choice: Perhaps he’s announcing Monday that he’s cut his list down from four to two or three. Perhaps he’s announcing the date of an official visit to Butler. Perhaps he’s announcing a date when he’ll announce his college decision. Perhaps he’s announcing that his new iPhone just arrived. September 23, 201312 yr Anybody have an update on the big guy from Hoptown? Saw him at state and was very impressed vs. Madison. Heard rumors that UK was interested in him as a walk on.
