Oubre has picked KU.

The dad is either disingenuous or not very smart when it comes to Coach Cal.

Kelly Oubre?s father not a fan of the one-and-done » UK basketball and football recruiting news

“That’s one of the reasons behind choosing Kansas,” Kelly Oubre Sr. told the newspaper. “Coach Self doesn’t kick you out if you are not ready. I don’t care too much for it (one-and-done) because if you look at it over the last couple drafts, the success of the guys one-and-done is few and far between. Every once in a while you find guys who can make it through. I’m more concerned about his education after maybe a two-year stint or three-year stint. How close is he to that degree and having a greater business mind going into the next level, whatever that is? I think the first year in college as well as the pros, maybe two, is a learning curve. That learning curve can be cut considerably if he stayed and developed in college.”

I'm happy for the kid, and wish him nothing but the best at KU, but don't make idiotic comments dude.

Guess Oubre Sr. forgot about Xavier Henry, Josh Selby, Ben McLemore, and the pending departures of Selden and Wiggins...Idiot.

Makes me wonder how much of that may be Self's recruiting tactics. "Coach Cal kicks his guys out after 1 year whether or not they're ready, you'd have to beg him for him to let you come back, we're not like that here at Kansas, we are here to better prepare YOU. He says he wants to see how many UK players he can get in 1 draft etc etc because it's all about what he wants and how he is perceived. Wouldn't surprise me.

James Blackmon has alerted me (through someone else) he is down to Kentucky and Michigan.

After talking to a few people, I feel better about UK's chances with Stanley Johnson. Can't emphasize enough how crucial BBM visit will be.

Still hope!!!!!!

James Blackmon has pushed back his October 22nd announcement date. Not clear as to when he is going to announce.

It's not looking like James Young will be back, Cals said numerous times that NBA scouts have really fell in love with his game. They need a good visit this weekend for Stanley.

Stanley Johnson is coming out with his final 3 tomorrow. S/B UK, Zona, and maybe USC.

^ Stanley now says people have been "messing around" on his phone & that no cut down is expected.

James Blackmon Jr tells Cats Illustrated that he isn't sure if he will take his Indiana visit. Very good sign for Kentucky

Moss Point's Devin Booker has completed visits, but still mulling college decision

Basketball recruiting: Moss Point's Devin Booker has completed visits, but still mulling college decision (with poll) | gulflive.com

Booker visited both Kentucky and Michigan State on the weekend of Sept. 6-9 and went to Michigan on Oct. 5. He arrived back in Mississippi Sunday after the first of consecutive trips to Columbia, Mo., with plans to return to this weekend when his father, Melvin, is honored along with the rest of Missouri's 1994 Big 8 championship team.

Those asking about my Devin Booker prediction, I think it's close. I think Mizzou has the slight edge over UK, about 60-40 right now.

James Blackmon Jr. was on campus at IU Friday and part of the day Saturday but did not stay for Saturday night's game. He and his father stayed in Bloomington Friday night but left campus Saturday afternoon.

Good sign for UK I would have to believe
