August 7, 201214 yr Author Big news out of IU is that stud big man Trey Lyles has said he is now open. I saw this kid once last yr. really skilled big man. Great footwork. Good stroke. Not sure if he has any interest but he is good enough to play for Cal.

August 8, 201214 yr Author Is he a traditional big man? Back-to-the-basket kind of guy? I saw him play in the Indy city school tourney last season. 6'9ish. Stroke it from 18 or so. Really good drop step. Athletic big man. Really good off hand.
August 8, 201214 yr Author A few updates from today re: Lyles. Goodman said that word is UK and Syracuse may have been involved prior to his de-commitment from IU. I was listening to Dan Dakich today and he said a national guy told him the story is it's one of two reasons: Job for someone associated with Lyles or the shoe company got involved.
