Chick-Fil-A is anti-gay marriage

Featured Replies

More Dixie Chick fans disagreed with them than agreed. It appears that more CFA customers agree with CFA than disagree.

Also, another key point is that we are talking about patriotism. Dixie Chicks spoke out against the president at that time. I did not vote for Obama, but he is my president. So if I was at a rock concert and the performers on stage spoke out against President Obama, I would no longer be a fan.

It's called dealing/living with your choices and understanding your customers base! A business has a right to express it's opinion! No one said the Dixie Chicks couldn't express their opinion but what happened was the Dixie Chicks opinion wasn't what their customers base wanted to hear from them. If you express your opinion, then you need to understand that opinion can hurt you and you have to deal with it!

TBG, even if it isn't what you like, or think is fair, others have just as much right to their opinion as you do and at the moment, it seems that Chick-Fil-A has the public support on their side and the Dixie Chicks don't. Pretty simple really and the public has spoken with their wallets!

Where in this thread have I stated my opinion on either "Chick" issue?

You KINDA implied one when you pointed out you passed up CFA for Cheddar's.....although....Cheddar's in and of itself IS quite a viable optiin. :D

Just curious, what happened to "Freedom of Speech?"

I don't necessarily think the Dixie Chicks "should have" said it......but they have every right to have done so.....it was turned out to be really bad business for them......it appears, that Chick-Fil-A's experience has been the opposite.

At the time it wasn't that nuanced a position from those who were against them. It was more to the point of they should "shut up and sing," and that they should somehow not have an opinion.

I am a tad behind here and have googled the topic a bit. Please correct any of my misconceptions:

1) The owner spoke out (somewhere?) against gay marriage.

2) Further, he alludes to gay marriage bringing God's judgment against us.

3) He mentions nothing of refusing gay customers or not hiring gay individuals.

4) He is happy to be with his "first wife" (found that amusing.)

My own opinion: I don't know if homosexuality is a sin or not. That is not for me to decide.

I don't agree with the owner's stance. I think that people that are gay should have the right to be legally joined and have with that all that comes with marriage between a man and a woman. I would prefer that marriage be a religious institution and if one church feels that it is right to marry a gay couple and another not, I am fine with that.

I have never eaten at Chick-Fil-A and probably won't choose to do so in the future.

Curse you people! Your making me want to try Chick-Fil-A...and I don't WANT to WANT to try it. lol.gif

I think TBG more than KINDA implied that......

I wouldn't normally share this, but Randy did something similar earlier in the thread.

I have been on a weight loss regime since January. I have lost about 35 lbs and the types of foods offered at places such as Chick-Fil-A won't help me lose more. I also don't go to McDonalds, Wendys, Kentucky Fried Chicken, nor would I go to "We Have Great Chicken Sandwichs and Support Gay Marriages."

Also, in one of the posts that you quoted, you will see where I said that I think that marriage should be a religious institution.

Sometimes, you shouldn't assume.

Their grilled chicken pecan salad with fat free dressing and unsweetened tea was quite satisfying.

Chick-fil-a has a very tasty grilled chicken salad.

Just have fellow posters check with me, I got this.

You know, I really was thinking about that. We've had that conversation on more than one occassion. :thumb:

Now, see...no one mentioned that! It was all about chicken sandwiches and fries.

To be quite honest, had I not been in this "weight loss" way of life, I probably would have tried it, due to all of the very yummy posts in this thread. However, I'm quite proud that I've developed some will power.

Congrats on the weight loss!! When you can splurge a little....I love the CFA chicken salad sandwich. It's all crunchy, and served on this nutty wheat bread. I don't order the waffle fries, I just steal a couple from my kids to get my fix.

That's good to know on the chicken salad sandwich. I do treat myself to wheat bread at times.

Wheat bread is a treat?scared.gif
