Who will be the QB? What kind of line for Beechwood?

 

All question marks. Seriously, no one is going to know much about this team till scrimmages in August, and maybe not then.

I would think the Bright twins line at DE or TE.

In the area of skilled players, Beechwood just bolstered their ranks, the Stringer kid from Independence is enrolled at BW for the fall semester and practicing with the team. Now if they can just find someone to block for him.....

LOL. I think he will be ok. BW coming off an undefeated Frosh season, and had an OL that was fantastic. Now I hear there are several transfers in, most of them linemen, that will be incoming Frosh. I am sure after a rebuilding BW team takes D6 SK to the woodshed again in September, we will hear some more "if we played them again, we would pound them" stories coming out of Independence.

How about Nussbaum in the shotgun and Erdman back there with him? This would be a very good tandem for a power running attack with options.

The development part for football players happens in high school. Freshmen on down, it is much more about God given ability. Beechwood knows how to develop football players.

SK did not develop the Stringer kid, that was the work of God and the coaches at South Kenton not getting in the way. Twenhofel, a percentage of the kids a Summit View, and South Kenton develop the young men that would typically enroll at SK. As a matter of fact the Stringer kid actually lives in the Scott district...so who was poaching who, kind of like the pot calling the kettle black, IMO.

Really? I wonder how many former Spartans are playing for SK? This just boils down to schools from affluent communities poaching kids from not so affluent communities. I'd like to see how successful Beechwood would be if coaches from their development program took kids to other high schools!

For the love of God, please. What did Simon Kenton do to develop the Brights or Stringer? They were both taught the game by the coaches at South Kenotn. Marksberry could not be more disengaged with the South Kenton, or the two middle school programs for that matter. It's a shame, and there is no one to point a finger at but himself. He is a pathetic ambassador for that football program, does nothing to make the young kids want to play at SK. They let the Bright boys walk without even a fight, not so much as a phone call. There is a reason the schools like Highlands , BW, and Cov Cath are so successful, and it has nothing to do with recruiting. It has to do with having one program from the time kids first lace up the cleats until they graduate, and the sense of pride and ownership that instills. SK got very lucky to have a couple great classes back to back, and when you have an SEC running back and a college QB on your roster for a few years, I think I could win with that. A program is built by your so called "development", not just a few teams here or there. Once again SK is mediocre at best, and will stay that way for a while. I have no dog in this fight, but good for Ethan for making a choice he thought was the best, both academically and athletically. Need to let it go, it's his decision.
