Where do you see them at?

 

I see them in the top 5. I would always have Mayfield and Beechwoon in the top 5 to begin the season just because of their tradition. That is unless I knew they lost a lot and had nothing coming back.

Russellville is going to be special and challenge my Cards out west but they may still be a year away.

Raceland boys are talking alot but I'm not sure they would know a good team until one finally bites them in their arse. I think they just enjoy talking and dreaming

Pikeville and Williamsburg I think, I have heard mention of being improved

No need to speak so harshly, when we haven't chimed in. But, since you brought it up, Raceland will have a good team this year and will be competing from the east for the State Championship appearance.

 

Oh, and next year as well.

Beechwood will have to prove it to me this year, I don't think they can get past Frankfort this year IMO.

Harshly? not harsh just calling it like I read it but I would think of it as a positive that you all have so much faith. What you have just posted makes me scratch my head though. "will be competing from the east for the State Championship appearance" Stated that way makes it sound as if you don't think you can win the big one. I would hope you meant competing for the state championship. Anyway if you or anyone else took my statement in a negative light let me say sorry and after rereading it I should have worded it differently

I don't think Toothpick was being harsh, just calling it how he sees it. And to be honest, IMO I would take it as an honor to have my team mentioned in conversations when discussing the top teams in the state. Good luck to Raceland. They should have a very nice team this year. Hopefully they can possibly compete for a state title either this year and/or next.

That could very well happen and still be worthy of Top 5 conversation. Beechwood though, will have several games under their belt by the time a Frankfort matchup would occur so it will be easier to size up the game then. Additionally, the game will be in Fort Mitchell this year unlike the last two seasons.

Frankfort has no running back and face's same issue's as BW they will need to develpe their young talent and by playoff time will be ready to play as every Frankfort team does at the end of the season. Last year they had two decent QB's and one was a big boy and could play from what I seen last year in the playoff's. Yes finally they Frankfort will need to travel to Ft Mitchell to play after going to Frankfort the past two years. Don't count Frankfort or Raceland out they will be there come playoff's. JD

I just thought the "biting on the arse" a little over the top. But, maybe I took it wrong. And I did mean that that Raceland would be competing for the State Championship appearance from the east side of the bracket. I would think that Raceland, Hazard, Pikeville, and maybe Fairview will be in the top tier from the east.

Thanks Porky. I think Mayfield and Beechwood are at the top to begin the season this year, with Raceland, Pikeville, and Hazard next. Hopefully my Rams can work their way to that elusive State Championship game and compete with the team from the west.

I will go with Mayfield, Beechwood and Hazard as my top three in no particular order to begin the season, followed by Raceland, Frankfort, Pikeville and Russelville.

No mention about Louisville Holy Cross they have been contenders the last few years up until they met Mayfield in the playoff's past two years. I thought I read early on they had some good kids back. I think Class A will be a tough class this year to pick a clear cut number one until playoffs. For now until Hazard is knocked off will place them number 1 followed by Mayfield. The rest to be seen as season progresses. JD
