Christian Academy of Louisville / South Oldham predictions

Recommended Posts

Two of the hottest teams in metro Louisville over the past few years kick off the 2018 season on Friday night in Crestwood at Dragon Stadium.

South Oldham has won six straight district titles under Jamie Reed, and the school has won 10 games the last three years, advancing to the region title game each year, and winning it in 2016, losing to Pulaski County in a semi-final shootout.

Likewise, Stefan Lefors has had a huge impact at CAL, where he has coached the last 7 seasons. Like Reed, no Lefors team at CAL has had a losing record (no team has won less than 8 games). CAL has won 10 or more games the past 5 seasons, and won the 2A State Championship, 24-6, over Danville in 2016, when they finished 14-1.

Last year, CAL prevailed at home over the Dragons in both teams' season openers, 28-14.

Players to watch: WR Milton Wright (SR) enters the year as a legitimate Mr. Football candidate for CAL. Last year, he had 34 catches for 685 yards and 9 TDs - but also spent time at QB, completing 25 of 52 passes with 2 TDs and 6 INT.

For South, all eyes will be on talented fullback Keaton Martin, who rushed for 1,258 yards and 17 TDs as a sophomore, after exploding on the scene as a freshman. As a freshman in 2016, Martin spent the year mostly as a backup, yet still rushed for 1,558 yards and 19 TDs.

Kickoff at 7:30 pm.

Pegasus Sports will cover the game on the internet, beginning with a pregame show at 7 pm. The Pegasus Sports Network - PSN
