Mustang
The Brossart Mustangs used a 14-4 advantage in the third quarter to break open an otherwise close ballgame. The Mustangs and Thorobreds were tied at 11-11 after one, and 25-25 at the half, and the Breds edged the Mustangs 18-17 in the fourth quarter. Not the prettiest game ever played in Alexandria, with 42 fouls called and 50 free throws shot. The Breds (Spencer Free) did a great job in limiting Zach Hamberg, the Mustangs leading scorer to merely 2-points. Stepping up was J.D. Schumacher who led all scorers wtih 17 points and Bryce Donnelly added 16. Brossart went 10 deep and all ten put ink in the scoreboard, as the Mustangs improve to 11-8. Quenton Turley led the Breds with 13 points and Thomas Thompson added 11 as Harrison County falls to 7-10. The Mustangs invade Scott High School on Friday night in what will be our third game in three days, while the Breds host district rival Pendleton County in Cynthiana. Mustang
I failed to mention that both teams hit identical 19 of 25 from the free-throw line.
