newarkcatholicfan
Dayton (6-7, 0-1 Conf) could not hold the lead in the 2nd and suffered another tough loss, to open A-10 conference play. Duquesne (10-4, 1-0 Conf) just seem to be a little better and played more as a team, which I.M.O. led them to the home win. For the Dukes Rene Castro-Caneddy(Boston, Ma.)led the way with 21 points and 5 assist. Chas Brown(Baltimore, Maryland) pulled down a team high 7 boards and scored 8 points. For Dayton it was Darrell Davis(Detroit, Mi) leading the way with 19 points and 5 boards. Josh Cunningham(Chicago, Ill) had 13 boards and 14 points. Getslow
Flyers have very little direction at this point. Fairly understandable as a number of three and four year starters graduated last year and the coach left. Grant is doing pretty well on the recruiting trail though and I hope this team will develop a real identity as the year goes on and things will start looking up.
