Uncle read post 53. More college coaches were in attendance during the week of practice than at the game, so everyone got a chance to "showcase" their abilities in practice.:thumb: The way I understand it D-1 schools are not able to recruit in person right now.

All the players were told up front they were not guranteed playing time. They used the first few practices to evaluate the players and name the starters. Again I was impressed with the way the game was ran and how the players were treated during the week, truly like superstars.

The entire Ky squad played very hard and keep the intensity the entire game. The Bell Co.trio finishes 16-0 for the year.:dancingpa

Great game and good crowd considering the weather. As mentioned Harbin (Bell Co.) played really well on the D-line and had a number of tackles and QB preasure's. Merrick (Bell) kicked really well except for the 1st punt. Pinned the Tn. team deep in their territory on kickoff's and punts. Greer (Bell) played well at safety as well. #33 for Bryan Station looked to be a big time DB for the Ky. team. Also # 63 from HHS was impressive. Fought through some block but was also untouched at times. Great showing for KY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

With the number of returning starters they simply must just get older. They should be bigger, stronger and faster this year. On the Coaching front I have heard they have contacted a current asst. at Bell County and he maybe a serious canidate.

Yes and Lanxter at UK, Warren at UT and so on. They typically have a few D-1 players every year.

I know Bell county loses Sheldon Clark, Tates Creek, Leslie and Volunteer Tn. Picks up Marion County, Soddy Daisey Tn., Harlan Co. and a team from Tn called Alcoa???, :ylsuper: Just kidding about not knowing who Alcoa is they are a great challenge for any team.

Very interesting move for sure. A bunch of teams are having hard times getting games looks like it will make some room for some movement in schedules possibly?

Nice touch to present them during the b-ball game. Just another oppurtunity to show appreciation to a hard working group in front of a crowd. Most HS players don't get the focus they should in this day and time. They are truely the backbone of any school.

I know Rains from LCA is the head coach. But who are some of the asst. coaches??

According to weather.com it is going to be 40 and partly sunny at kickoff. That is a near heatwave compared to some of the weather in the playoff's.

Make-up of earlier scheduled game. What is everyone's thought's? Bell has owned this series for the past decade only losing 1 meeting in that time.

I was told they played some man and some chaser as well, mixed in with some presure. I was told the play of the game was in 4th P'ville was on a run and had just hit 2 3's to narrow the margin. When Ben Madon for Bell blocked Strange's 3 pt. attempt and Bell got an easy layup on the other end. Game was never in question after that. Good to see the young kids step-up for Bell.

Just got of the phone with a buddy that went to the game. Appears Bell played really well on defense and led by 20+ in the 1st half.

They have not played a very tough schedule, so I think alot remains to be seen. But they are very talented and maybe as talented on offense as anybody in the 13th.

Not all Ref's are bad in the 13th. We have some really good ones but on the other hand some that are terribly slanted towards particular teams. Also they are some that are just not good at calling, honest but just are not good at it.

That is a sign of the economy. Just look around if Toyota is losing money you know it is bad. It has nothing to do with lack of intrest or change in classification and everything to do with people trying to save money anywere and anyway they can.

Keeping pretty quiet overall. I have been told a coach from Tn is the favorite as of now??? Take away Corbin and you have about 8-10 teams that are not that far apart in the 13th.

9 on the varsity. As of last week they had only participated in 6 practices together due to the football lasting until the 12th of Dec., the Holidays and Tourney's. They are the district champs many years in a row for a reason. Remember they lost the 1st game against Cumberland last year by 20 plus, only to beat them twice later in the season. This was not an upset. Harlan Co. is about a month or so ahead of Bell and were at home.
