Who said Lynn Camp or Williamsburg has won a state title? :confused: Your right their is no easy roads in the playoffs, and the fact that LC and WHS region has only won one state title in over a decade is proof of that. Our region is and has been a very even region the past few years, where a different team has step up and one, only to be defeated by NCC or Beechwood. It takes one upset to get to the finals. In Whitley case before the new playoff format, when I first wrote what I did, it took two or three upsets, just to make to the semi-finals, where one of the best teams in the Country year in and year out is waiting. Also where everyone round you would have to play some of the best teams of Lexington and then Louisville. Whitley is a tough school to build a consistent winner in the postseason. Like I said before if the State goes to 5 or 6 classes, Whitley has a better shot at being a successful winner in the postseason.

What type of coaching background does he have? Will Williamsburg stay with the same offense they have now?

This is the first year, it is a joint bowl game with Knox Central, next year it will played at KC.

I'm not sure about the deals, I would think 1 year, like the situation with KC and Bell playing in the Pigskin, Williamsburg would have to play KC two years in a row, and I don't know if they would do that, they would not play us especially now the odds of meeting in the postseason having been increased this week.

I heard Knox Central could be playing in the Pigskin in 2007. I would like to see Whitley and Corbin come to our bowl game. LC vs Corbin, and KC vs Whitley would be a huge draw.

I didn't realize he was given the chioce to go to Lynn Camp. I don't see what they have to do with him. How can Whitley win in Playoffs? Not many teams in their distrcit has been very successful over the years in the playoffs. Madison Central has played for the region title twice, and South once since 1999. The distict has also been swept out of playoffs a couple of times. Whitley themselves haven't been in the playoffs since 2002, and longer then that since they won a playoff game, and I don't believe they have ever made it past the second round in school history, or have won a playoff game since moving to 4A. Over all this time to Whitley County has been a very good football team, one of the best overall in Eastern Kentucky, and they had one of top coaches around in Mike Campbell, and one of the best coaching staffs in state. What do you think Jim Black can do to turn it around at Whitley?

Define win? I don't mean this as a disrespect to Whitley, but it would a tough job to win at. Sure you can win 8 to 10 regular season games, but with the region they play in it would be tough to win a region title, and it would take a miracle to win a state title at Whitley, North and South too for that matter in football. He has a better chance to win at Williamsburg in a lot ways over Whitley. Williamsburg was one play away from the State Semi-finals two years ago. If Kentucky goes to a 5 or 6 class system that will help improve their chances of winning, and if anyone can turn Whitley into a contender, I think Jim Black is the right choice, I wish him the best of luck if he does take this job, and hopefully Whitley can win 9 games next year, but not 10, and I'm sure you guys know who I hope the one loss is too.

Look in the Times, they have the results of the classes for the top three, minus the school the person belongs to.

Sorry I didn't get to go, something came up at the last minute, and I couldn't make it. Whitley County does usually win this. They usually come to the event with a lot kids, so they don't lose this competition very often. Congrats to North on winning it this year.

Congrats to Joe, the second Lynn Camp basketball player to play at the next level, I don't know if LC has ever had two in one year.

That is true about Harlan, it would be a 2hr+ trip, but onething that about the schools in the Madison County area is they have been playing in the mt districts, or with districts that have mt teams. Madison Central plays in the district with North and South Laurel, and Madison Southern makes trips to Perry Central, and Letcher Central. With Hazard in district 7 it would be close to a two hr trip by bus for Pineville. Williamsburg and Lynn Camp pushing an 1hr and half. Hazard sits right about in the middle of both districts. I know it is a good two hrs from Phelps to Hazard, with them in the middle I would leave them right where they are at. Completely speaking it would be better with them in district 8, but of course that plays no factor in the decision.

I would move Hazard into District 2, and move Berea in Reg 4, Dist 1. It would even up the teams in region 4 and region 2. I think if this happens it would be in 2007, so Evarts, Cumberland and Cawood, would still be around. I think Harlan County is opening in 2008.

What would a proposed 5A alignment look like?

1. South Laurel 2. North Laurel 3. Clay Co 4. Corbin 5. Cumberland 6. Whitley Co 7. Middlesboro 8. Bell Co 9. Cawood 10. Williamsburg

If South is the #1, Corbin and Whitley will play in the semi-finals, because Williamsburg is looking at the 4 seed. Imo this is the best district in the 13th, and I think any of the 4 can make it to region.
