  1. All you need to know, really, is Elias Camper and Matt Denham. With JH down 21-19, Denham scored on a 65-yard run with 9:36 left and Camper scored on an 11-yard run with 5:04 left and JH got the conversion on both scores. Nice second half by the Dawgs. Will have stats later.
  2. It's called a cadence. Every band marches to one. [/band nerd]
  3. I've covered a few games in torrential downpours. Yet so far nothing has topped the Frankfort High/Paris High game I covered at Paris in 2006. It wasn't a downpour by any means, just a constant, never-ending light rain. There was no room in the pressbox, so I had to roam the sidelines. I was soaked to the bone that night and cold as all get out, even though that game was played in early September.
  4. Meade wins its sixth in a row, 49-14
  5. I thought Evangel dropped down to 8-man?
  6. John Hardin could struggle early, but the Dawgs will turn it around in the second half. John Hardin 41, Nelson County 20
  7. Legal. The rule is you can't break the huddle with 12. And besides, I've seen many a receiver get set up like that in games.
  8. North had 546 yards and wound up with 106? Holy cow, that last drive must have taken forever and a day!
  9. They've been alternating PT at QB? Not in the 2 or 3 WC games I've watched.
  10. Wanna talk respect? Go check the N-E from last Friday. I hear only one of the guys picked Meade to win this one........................
  11. They had showed little? How about that 3-game winning streak after the 0-3 start? Did that not show Owensboro and its fans anything at all?
  12. Fort Knox probably won't put up 14 on Bardstown. Tigers roll, 63-7.
  13. Standards aren't low. It's just been a rough go so far. LaRue County stopped one of the most prolific pass offenses in that win. And it was a huge rivalry game, just like this one will be in the coming years when the teams get reacquainted with each other. LaRue wins this one, but it's a close game, 35-24.
  14. I was at the game and Meade was far and away the better team last night. Owensboro just couldn't get anything going on the ground and the Green Wave defense was up to the task of shutting Shemwell and Douglas down. Shemwell had 14 yards on four carries, Douglas had 46 on 18. J.L. didn't have that great of a night with two interceptions, but he didn't need to have a great night with the way his defense was playing. J.L. finished 12-of-22, for 116 yards and a TD. He also scored the first TD of the game on a 1-yard keeper. Alex Furnival was huge for Meade last night. Ran the ball 21 times for 76 yards and had that huge INT return for the TD. Brandon Barr caught 4 passes for 69 yards and a score and was wide open on the 26-yard touchdown in the fourth quarter. Great night by him. Good win for the Green Wave. Hopefully they can keep it up next week against North Hardin...
  15. And Gohman isn't a running back. He's a wide receiver. And the injury didn't happen in the first quarter. It happened just before halftime.
  16. Oh yeah, forgot my pick for this year's game: High 56, Hills 7
  17. Got to watch High beat Hills, 40-0 two years ago in the rain. That game was fun to watch.
  18. Didn't say there's anything wrong with that. Just saying I doubt it'll happen this season.
  19. North Hardin Christian School in Radcliff has played Evangel twice this year.
  20. Trimble fans were saying last year was the year for a big win over Frankfort. And it didn't happen then. Just don't see it happening now, either. FHS 56, Trimble 20
  21. FWIW, it's LaRod King, not LaRon. Anyways, John Hardin wins big, 42-10.
  22. 49-0 at the end of the first quarter? Wow. I've seen FHS score a lot of points in the first half, but never like that in the first quarter.
