That's always the case with Coach Foley. His schedule was always tough when I worked in Frankfort and was covering the three schools, and that remains true to this day.

What does that even mean?

Who wins? This is a "rivalry" that hasn't been played since the 2000 season, when the Hawks beat the Dragons in the playoffs. I'm picking LaRue in a close one, 27-20.

Unstoppable?

I think I've gone with Meade County the last couple of years that I've been participating in our weekly picks at my paper. Not sure who I'm going with this year, although it has been close each year. Jeb, convince me why I should pick the Green Wave this time.

Fort Campbell coach won't let his team score THAT much.

People on Fort Knox know this game isn't going to be close this year or even next year. Heck, it may be a few years before the Eagles can even come close to Fort Campbell. But this is a game people like to be played because of the tradition involved. It doesn't matter a whole lot that the teams are on opposite ends of the spectrum right now. It's just a good rivalry that's been going on for quite some time, and it's a good time for people at both bases to come together if only for that one night in the season.

How the heck did Washington County blow that lead?

Hornets put up 28 in the first quarter, and led 48-20 at halftime. Fort Knox did score twice to cut it to 48-36, but Hancock County was just too much. There's not much a coach can do when his kids are breaking tackles and finding holes that aren't supposed to be there. That's what happened to Fort Knox. They had a few miscues on defense and special teams that led to the score being what it was.

No. Fort Knox couldn't stop Hancock's ground game, and Hancock couldn't stop Knox's in the second half.

Hard to believe Fort Knox cut the lead to 48-36 in the fourth quarter. Hancock County rushed for 436 yards (Luke Case had 233, Josh Newton 167); Fort Knox had 305 yards on the ground (Frank Richardson rushed for 226, Quensie Brown had 80). Case had 5 TDs and Newton had one. Knox couldn't stop the trap play, or the sweep to Case.

Score update?

Paris will have no answer for Weaver. Frankfort rolls, 41-6.

As I told Jim, the game was awful to watch. I thought it would be the game that snapped the streak, but it just didn't happen. Knox couldn't stop Clay Owens (96 rushing yards, 94 passing) or Casey Robinson (63 rushing, 44 receiving, 4 TDs). Knox finished with 10 total yards. Yikes.

North Hardin will benefit from the transfer of Alik Rucker, who was one of John Hardin's starting linebackers last season.

That's too far spread out. At least with the semi-state format, teams are playing somewhat close to home. And with the way the economy is right now, that's a good thing.

Serious question: Is this high school? If so, what league?
