  1. Watch the video at the bottom of that first link. The kid is unreal, and I can't wait to see what he does this season.
  2. If this were a high school team, the coaches would no doubt be in trouble. Hopefully that's the case here.
  3. Not sure who has applied so far, and I really haven't heard who's interested in it. They have a lot to replace next season, not just a head coach. Franklin and Kleber, the starting QB and FB, moved back to Kansas earlier this week. Those two were fun to watch, and I'll miss getting to cover them at Knox. Caleb Smith is also gone as he moved back to Virginia. Not entirely sure on any other departing athletes who weren't seniors, but Fort Knox has lost a lot in the last two months. Combs stepping down was a big blow, but I don't know how long it'll take the team to get over the losses of all these players.
  4. Not sure if these have been mentioned, but these players from the Hardin County area are signing tomorrow: Mitchell Henry, Elizabethtown -- Western Kentucky Jeff Richard, John Hardin -- Murray State John Wallace, Central Hardin -- Louisville
  5. Because I'd rather not. I was told the names in confidence and told that person I wouldn't repeat the information.
  6. Not the super. That was the school's AD. Todd isn't sure if he'll stay on. He said if the new head coach wanted him to, he would. It's not a given.
  7. One name I've heard might surprise a lot of people. The names I'm getting are coming from a friend of mine who's in the coaching biz, and has been for quite some time, so I know his information is pretty solid.
  8. Brandon Combs is leaving Fort Knox after three seasons. He and his wife are expecting their third child in February, and he wanted to take some time off to spend with his family.
  9. They stopped playing last season and had hoped to play a few games late in the fall. That never happened, and I'm not sure if they're bringing back football at all. Everyone I've talked to -- from the principal to just about everyone I know at the school -- has said football is done at NHC.
  10. Became official late Monday afternoon. Heard some names tossed around that I won't post here, but they're pretty solid coaches.
  11. That's what everyone thought Glasgow would do ...
  12. Was told they were down 14-0 and 21-13 at the half. They went up 27-21 either late in the third quarter or early in the fourth, and kicked a FG late in the fourth. They stopped Glasgow and had a chance to run the clock out, but fumbled with less than 50 seconds left. Coach Combs said Glasgow just couldn't get anything going on the final drive.
  13. A lot of it has to do with playing up in class. I know E'town plays up in class several games throughout the year every year.
  14. Dagnabbit, RT! Was just coming over here to post this! :-P
  15. Winning team, for whatever insane reason, has to win by eight to have a shot at the playoffs.
  16. Jacksonville recovers fumble. If they score, game over.
  17. Not sure. I'm getting updates on Facebook from a friend who's covering the game.
  18. In the 12th overtime: Jacksonville 81, Nacogdoches 81. Holy crap.
  19. Fort Knox was 2 1/2 minutes away from posting its first shutout in a long time, but Hart County scored two TDs in the final 2 minutes and change.
