  1. Really? Baseball is 10 after five. Softball is 15 after three or 10 after five.
  2. If you're up four or more scores late and you still have your first team kids in and they score, that -- at least to me -- is running up the score.
  3. Don't think J'town could hang with JH for long. JH's size and speed can wear any team down quickly. As far as Wilson, he's out AT LEAST three weeks -- maybe four. Still, that's not a good thing for the Green Wave -- who will have ONE healthy quarterback this week.
  4. E'town had one player quit the team before last week's game. Beechwood will win this one by however much it wants. I can definitely see E'town giving up 60-plus again.
  5. Thompson had over 250 all-purpose yards. His 93-yard kick return was something else.
  6. First time Boyle's been shut out in at least 187 games.
  7. Rodney Armes has never lost to Green County in his career, and Green County hasn't won a game in this on-again, off-again rivalry since the 1990s. I'm surprised more Green County fans aren't here talking up their Dragons and saying this is their year to finally beat the Hawks.
  8. Heard so many good things about Warren Central, so it's hard to go against them -- even if the game is played at Death Valley, where for whatever reason, Meade always seem to play pretty well in no matter the opponent. Thomas Wilson makes Meade County go. He has an excellent arm, and can run for yardage as well. Should be a good game.
  9. Knox hasn't won the Army Bowl since a 28-0 win in 2002, which -- prior to last season -- was the last time Knox got to the second round of the playoffs. I just don't see the Eagles hanging around like they did last season with the Falcons. Knox's depth is suspect at best. And they're still without Josh Kleber who, no matter what anyone says, is irreplaceable. I say FC wins 42-21.
  10. Question for any and all Fort Campbell fans: Anyone know where I can get stats from their first three games? Nothing is posted online for any team on the KHSAA website right now, and I'd love to have some stats to throw in my preview of the game. If you can help me out in, say, the next hour or so, please let me know.
  11. According to his Facebook, John Hardin junior Wade Holtsclaw broke his leg and is out six weeks. The good news, though, is that he doesn't need surgery.
  12. Had Meade County with 505 total yards -- 230 passing, 275 on the ground. Greenwood had 244, but was shut down completely in the second half. Thomas Wilson was unreal. Two TD passes while scrambling for his life, two rushing TDs to put the game away -- 40 seconds apart -- in the second half. That's the best I've seen him play -- and I've been to a lot of Meade County games since he became starter.
  13. Eagles outgain Raiders 354-157, but can't overcome penalties (15 for 111 yards, including two unsportsmanlike conducts near the end of the game) and three INTs. Nate Morrison rushed for 125 yards and two TDs on 28 carries for Hart. Josh Kleber had 179 yards and two TDs on 18 carries for Knox.
  14. I don't wanna grow up! I wanna be a Boyle County kid!
  15. Helmet-less Boyle kid: Did anybody get the number of that truck?
  16. Agree with JS that it depends entirely on the situation. I've had coaches try and do that numerous times during interviews. I almost always try and get a little more out of them, but most of the time do not. I just leave it at that and go about my business. Some of the best quotes I've ever gotten -- and I'm sure JS is in the same boat -- were off the record. It'd have been nice if I could have used some of them.
  17. Final from Campbellsville University. North Bullitt scores 26 straight points after LaRue County drives down field for TD on its first drive.
  18. E'town had 16 penalties, didn't run the ball consistently and their offensive line -- which was bigger than Knox's three-man front -- couldn't keep Knox from getting pressure on Kyle Todd nearly every snap. E'town had one play tonight -- slant pattern to Matt Morgan -- that burned the Eagles for TDs three times, but that was it. Brandon Franklin threw for 5 TDs, Akio Tonge had two TDs -- on receiving, one kick return. E'town just simply got out-everythinged tonight.
  19. Will be at Elizabethtown-Fort Knox on Friday, followed by LaRue County vs. North Bullitt on Saturday at Campbellsville University.
  20. A sophomore who's never started a varsity game -- according to the poster above me -- is a "top recruit?"
