In 1993 we scrimmaged University Heights. Greg Buckner and Lamont Barnes I know for sure played in the NBA. I think Isiah Victor was also on the team. Not for sure though if he made it to the NBA.

Thursday at Scott, at 6 pm against NCC.

Just an observation of complexes at Dixie, Ryle, and SK, the soccer out of bounds lines are further out than the football out of bounds line.

1996. Can't remember if it was the 2nd round or 3rd round of the playoffs. Beechwood vs. Dayton. Dayton goes for 2 in the end for the win and fails. Best game I have witnessed.

This makes no sense. That would be like talking about a defensive pass interference when a guy is beat. Would you consider that a stupid rule? Just not to let the kid score. The horse collar rule is simply a safety rule that has trickled down from the NFL to all levels>

I believe it is only a 1 game suspension, so they should be available for the next game. Not sure how the schools work it if they add another game to it or not? Some schools add a game to the KHSAA suspension.

You also have to remember that Highlands has 2 starters ineligible due to the fiasco at Dixie last week.

How many other schools actually travel past Grant Co. If memory serves me right, Dayton went to Lynn Camp last year, and also has to to travel to Carroll Co. the last game of the year.:thumb:

Newport was absolutely terrible tonight. With that said, Cooper's freshman coaching staff had better learn to manage the game a little better, or when they get to the big class they will have a rude awakening coming. Let me be clear, the score was not run up, I forget how many TDs were off of poorly thrown balls for INTs. At least 3 if not 4. But taking a knee with the 1st team up 52-0 and 59-0 in the first half on an Xtra point, and then going for 2 with the 2nd team in the second half. Run your 2nd team out for xtra points if you are just going to take a knee and add salt to the wound. Just think the coaching staff should re-evaluate their game management. This score could have been 100 to nothing with ease. Also the complaining about Newport taking to much time on plays when the score is 74-0. Good luck getting that call for delay of game. Just heard that little complaint after the game. Good luck to both teams on the rest of your season.:thumb:

No. ky can either be 8 or 10 minutes depending on what the coaches want to do. They changed the 8 minute rule last year to have the option of playing 10 minutes.

How does this 6A matchup shake out.

Congrats to coach Marksberry and the SK pioneers. To go from playing for your postseason life against Campbell, and ending up at the pizza box has to be one of the greatest late season runs in recent memory. Enjoy the extra week of practice and show the state what NKY football is all about.

Who does the kickoffs and fieldgoals for WC. I believe he is also the QB. I had the chance to see him at Newport and he kicks the ball well. Only reason I bring this up is because of his kicking style. He literally lines a mere 2 steps straight behind the ball and basically toes it to the endzone every time. If I remember he was hitting 40+ fgs in warmups. If the game is close in the end and a wet field could be an exciting finish. Especially with the leg the Highlands kicker has also.Good luck to both teams.
