Will be a very challenging and possibily very rewarding opportunity for a young coach. I wish him the best of luck and hope the school and community rally around their new coach and get things turned around for the Greendevils.

Who is he...what is his coaching credentials?

Excellent choice by Dayton. Chad is a fine young coach and will get the best from his players.

No surprise, I believe that it will take some time, but that he is a good choice. Best of luck Coach Montgomery.

I don't know much about his coaching credentials, but know that he has been an assistant for a while and that he was a great high school player during his time at Bellevue. He was always motivational from what I know and believe that it could carry over to something that is strongly needed in Dayton.

Congrats coach Montgomery!

He was an assistant at Bellevue for a couple seasons while he was attending NKU. He student taught at Dayton and thats when Lickert left and he got to job of Asst. Linebacker coach and Asst. running back coach along with Nick Rice ( Newports Head Coach ). He was also the Froshmore Head Coach, I believe Chad learned alot from Nick Rice and Zack Deaton and has grown as a coach and is ready for the challenge. He is truely liked around the community and has great demeanor about himself which should rub off on his players.

Just seen of Chads facebook were he mentioned Charlie Coleman will be helping out this year with coaching and etc...

Congrats Coach Montgomery.

So is he going to step down from baseball job? Going to be awefully tough doing both, but I heard baseball team has 36 kids out this year. He obviously can get the kids out to play and hope that carries over to football.

Congrats to Chad. He'll be a great head coach, where ever he is coaching. I hope the kids buy in to what he's teaching and coaching. I wish nothing but the best for him and the Greendevils.

Congrats, Cookie. I think that it will help the kids of Dayton relate to their coach better, having a coach that comes from a similar school and background. He's a good person from a good family. He'll be a rock of stability for the athletes both as a coach and mentor.

No coach said that he is to be called Coach, Coach Montgomery, or Mr. Montgomery. I asked him why he was called Cookie and he said it was because he used to toss his cookies before every game. Which I did not know meant to puke. He is trying to change the mindset of us already, which does need to be done. So you will only hear him called coach or Coach Montgomery from us.

Supposed to be a meeting today for football. Coach is going to talk about expectations and other stuff. I'll let you know how it goes. He is going to try and see how many players are going to play next year.
