Why is everyone so quiet about Carroll County Football right now? What is going on in Cton? And how is Coach Weedman and the football team looking this year? Any insight into what kind of offense and defense they will be running this year? What players have been standing out so far this summer? Did they attend camp anywhere?

Field sounds as if is in good shape. What is the outlook for Bellevue this season? Has anyone stepped up that wasn't expected?

I will assume that one of the "weaknesses" you speak of is the passing attach that at times was non-existent last year and coupled with the loss of a very good QB from that team. Does it really look as if Coach Poynters Raiders will be more balanced this year?:confused: This is really shaping up to be a very good game and with the atmosphere that both teams fans will apparently bring this should be exciting.:dancingpa Henry County has great facilities for a High School football game.:ylsuper:

Gallatin will be able to compete! I don't believe they will be challenging for a state championship by any means, but they have a very solid core group of players for a one year old program. They have several very good athletes. Another great thing they have going for them from what I hear is the total support of the athletic department from all programs (meaning they are very willing to share athletes that you need at a 1A school).

How are things going during pre-season in Warsaw? Is anybody stepping up that wasn't expected? How about the transfer from Male? Curious to offense and defense they will be running this year. I would presume to be much the same as last year with same coaching staff in place.

If Trimble is anything like last year they weren't very balanced in most games. They did run the ball very well though.

You make it sound as if he is the ONLY OPTION they had on offense. When you put Brown and Florence and from my memory a pretty decent tight end (whose name I do not know) that gives plenty of options. So, I guess IMHO if he was option #1,2, and 3 as stated the coaches did not spread the ball around enough to their other quality players.

He does play both ways. I believe LB but not positive. Based on KHSAA posted stats averaged 15 carries a game (106 carries in 7 games for 461 yards). Good average. He is a good running back and could very well have a break out season as a junior.

I would agree! In the games I saw him play he was above average, but seemed to be missing during long stretches of the games I witnessed him play. He is a good hard nosed runner though.

What about the Brown kid? He was a playmaker last year. Good quickness and speed.

I hope I did not leave that impression. As I stated in my earlier post "I know nothing about it" (other than it turns brown when cool weather/frost hits it) and was just inquiring because of the way it looked 2 weeks ago. How is the Bermuda doing? I was by yesterday (July 4th) on 471 and it didn't look like the grass had spread much. It looked like a big mud hole with all the rain we finally got (it even appeared the sprinklers were on). It just didn't appear to me that it was taking or doing whatever it is supposed to do, but I know nothing about that so it is just my opinion.

Isn't it usually the VOCAL NEGATIVE (:devil: ) MINORITY that is heard from?

It will be a difficult task. Undefeated for the better part of 4 seasons. But, I would never say never to it happening.

Carroll Co. vs Trimble Co. was a huge rivalry before Trimble dropped football after the 1984 season. Trimble restarted in 1996 and the rivalry is still good but seems to be bigger for Trimble fans than Carroll. Carroll Co. has developed a huge rivalry in sports with Gallatin Co. recently and with the addition of football at Gallatin I can see this developing into a very big rivalry on the gridiron also.

I did not attend the scrimmage either. But I would think that part of summer "scrimmages" is to get as many kids to play as possible and not a "win at all costs" approach. I also know that Carroll has started football practice/conditioning and that could play quite a role in not being as "quick" as Walton. IMO why does it matter what happens in June, the season doesn't start for another 5 1/2 months. Let's play some football first.:banana:

So what kind of background information can anyone give on Coach Hockensmith? Past coaching experience?

I was at Henry's DQ Bowl last year and it was a very good atmosphere. A lot of fans showed up from all teams involved. Opening week end of football what better!:dancingpa Reading threads for both Trimble and Ludlow it looks like this will be a good match up and should create a very good football game. TC MGR 1 I believe you are right. Bird is obviously a talented running back, but, without the big guys up front and others to help carry some of the load he can't get the job done against the good teams. Trimble/Frankfort looks like the match up for the district, although anyone can make a run at it. Gallatin will be better this year I am sure and with the number of players they are reporting out will make a big difference for them. Trimble's defense this past year was a big difference maker for them and if it continues to improve so will the team. Hawkes can really hit. And if the kids are getting bigger and stronger as Tall Trees reports they should be better on both the O and D Lines.

Need to find a replacement for the QB as previously stated and imo the big wide receiver (Jennings) was a senior also. He forced defense to be honest and not crowd the line too much. A good core group coming back it appears, and a very good running back obviously. It sounds like a lot of work has been done this off season. Keep up the hard work! Good luck!
