All the talk here is about Bird. The Hawkes kid ran the ball as hard as anyone all night. He may not be as elisive as Bird, but I wouldn't want to take him head on. Peters ran the ball awfully well while he was in also and has great speed if he can get loose.

Gallatin County 28-14

This is a tough one to call. Henry looks good and put up good numbers against Casey. Trimble faces coming off a tough loss to Ludlow, but these same kids came off a tough loss to Henry Co. to start last season and rebounded with an admirable season. Should be a good game and within a touchdown either way.

I will have to go with Ludlow by 3 touchdowns. Much will depend on the status of Rose's ankle as to how well Carroll plays. I think they did have kids gain valuable experience with him being injured though.

The way Coach Poynter's teams have controlled the ball in the past couple of years :sleep: I don't see how Ludlow will have the ball enough to score 49 points!

Not that you can go off a previous year for predictions, but Ludlow only put up 34 points in one game last year according to the KHSAA Riherds Scoreboard. I realize they were young so maybe another year of maturity will help them.

Ludlow's offense looked very good against Gallatin in the scrimmage. But Gallatin appeared as if they had Carroll County on their mind:madman: (imo).

No one. Tonight against Ludlow is first scrimmage.

:thumb: I played with Gabbard at Hanover and he matured physically from Freshman to Junior year. He was a tremendous athlete! I am sure NCC will have a great team again this year.

That has to be tough for a State Championship Contending team and D1 Recruit at QB to hear.:confused:

How are these two doing now? Does it look as if they will be ready for the start of the season? Were they able to get in at the scrimmage with Newport Monday night? Hoping they will be ready by Saturday the 25th.

Thanks! I have also heard that in the scrimmage they ran the "I" with Cable at QB. I would speculate then that Welch is tailback/halfback (or split end) and would assume Rose at fullback/halfback? Was told a 4-4 on defense also.

I have heard the same regarding lights. Prior to them getting lights was that gametime was going to be 5:00 on Friday. Apparently Carroll Co. didn't want to move it to Saturday? With the heat :fire: we have been having I can understand that completely. Either way this should be a very interesting game to open the season.:dancingpa

Thanks for the information. As far as "quiet" I meant here on BGP. It doesn't seem like much has been said for a while. I can't remember Carroll Co. ever having 50+ out for football (even in Coach Mac days). Coach Weedman must be doing something right!
