Just my opinion, but the 2 best girls teams will play first..in CC and Walton. I will be anxious to see Walton this year. Gallatin is young and re-loading.

 

Trimble can also be dominant, it just depends on the summer for all of the teams. That side of hte bracket is definitely the toughest.

 

Boys look OK with CC looking like the favorite in their side and Gallatin on the other. With Owen out it leaves the field wide open..

Waltons boy team may have some struggles this year with the lose of seven seniors from last years team.

Gallatin should be favored in the boys. I will pick Walton second and Carroll third. Tournament is at Gallatin.

At Gallatin then you have to give them the advantage because it is always hard to go into there and win. (I won't say why):sssh: As for Walton second I don't know about that, they return some guards who got playing time last year with Martin and Kirk but they have nobody to battle on the inside.

On the Girl's side, Coach Roberts from Gallatin and Coach Wilhoit from Williamstown have to be smiling. The winner is almost certain to be playing in the finals. In a one game playoff, anything is possible.

 

If Trimble has anyone to get Miller the ball and develop a consistant outside shooter, they could be very dangerous. None of the teams have the size to compete against her.

 

On the Boy's side, I would say it would Gallatin Co's 1st five, Gallatin Co's 2nd five, then everyone else. Should be Gallatin and Carroll in the finals.

I would have to agree...it is a tough place to win at.

Im going to go with Carroll. Gallatin gets hit hard with graduation as they lose Perkins and Edmondson, just to name two. Walton also lsoes their big man and a shooter in Jones. Carroll will be young again next year but some have recieved quality varsity time and I think that they will be ready. Can't wait for the season to start, should be a good one!

Gallatin does lose some to graduation. No doubt. Cody Perkins, Nate Edmondson, J.R. Davis, Josh Giles & Dwayne Bowen will be missed. But, I will go with Gallatin anyway. Scott Brown, David Henson, Taylor Jones, Zac Jones, Trent Maddox and Jared Carlton return plus with the games at Gallatin add the 6th man to the frey.

You actually believe carroll is going to win this tournament? Gallatin's 2008 class dominated these teams from 7th grade to freshman. Gallatin is returning 4 players that have been named to either one of the all conference teams in the past two years, and they are returning 5 kids that have started before and got some playing time at the State level. Carroll has as much of a chance as williamstown.

Yes I do actually believe Carroll will win this tournament. Gallatin may have a better 2008 class with Brown. He is the only real threat on the team that I seen this past season. He was a pure shooter and great defender and an overall good player, but that is all I see returning out of 2008. The 2009 class seems to look tremendous for Carroll. If I recall correctly, Carrolls class of 2009 won the Class "A" tournament in 8th grade and also took the Freshman district title the following year as freshman. Now I am aware this was 8th grade and freshman year, but these same kids that played in these games have recieved playing time at the varsity level as Allen, Hendrick, and Cable all started varisty games for the Panthers this past season. The 2010 class for Carroll also looks to have the edge as they also won the Class "A" in 8th grade and districts the following year. Some of those players also recieved playing time at the varsity level to improve their game, as they did. Yager, Proctor, and Craig all recived quality time and has improved in the off season. This is just my opinion, based on facts of previous years, but I see Carroll as having the better team. I also believe Carroll has a little bit more chance of winning than Williamstown, but everyone has their own opinion :thumb:

I have to agree with HSFootball...Carroll may surprise many people this year..The talent is there and with the right coaching they may go far. This is not to put down Gallatin, because they always do well and have a tremendous Coach, however I certainly would not mark CC as a win in your schedule yet.

 

Everyone will have had a year to improve and work on their game so I think it will be very exciting in the 8th region all A...both boys and girls.
