  1. Thoughts and prayers go out to this young man!

  3. Sir, you must not be aware of the adversity these kids have faced this year or the type of scheduling done at Carroll Co. I am a life long fan of Carroll Co. as I went to school there when I was in high school. Carroll plays a tough schedule including Ludlow, DeSales, CAL, and Dayton. A little bad luck as stopped Carroll from improving their record or being 6-1. Daniel Rose went down with an injury, Josh McIntyre went down with an injury, Casey Cable is in his first full year as a starter and is learning how to play the game, Zach Wise (Fresh), Josiah Nickels(Fresh), and DC Craig(Soph) are all having to step up at a young age due to the injuries in their first year of football. Carroll has fought hard this year. Like I posted in an earler thread, Carroll has been dealt a bad hand but they are playing that bad hand. I have never been so proud to be a Carroll Co. parent/fan! Those boys have never gave up and I know that the coaches will not let them! However, Carroll has yet to put 4 quarters of football together. When the game comes that Carroll does put 4 quarters together, they will be victorious. The 1-6 team that you see now can finish the season strong. Being a parent of a young Panther, I will support Carroll Co. to the end. Good luck to the coaching staff and the team as they finish the season! I won't give up on you Coach Weedman/Panthers! :thumb: With all do respect, I do not believe that Gallatin has been faced with adversity like Carroll has, nor do I believe they play a schedule as tough as Carrolls. Good luck to the Wildcats the rest of the year!
  4. Spencer Co. does have a good, hard running back in #21 Chris Riggs. #5 is also very fast. When Carroll played there, #21 ran all over them. I am going to take Spencer Co. 35 Gallatin Co. 21 being that the game is at Spencer. Best of luck to both teams!
  5. Nobody on here has said Trinity or St. X. The thought just came up that Gallatin could be playing better teams than who they chose this year.
  6. 5 Highlands 3 LCA 3 Hazard 1 Mercer Co. 1 Warren East 1 Russell 1 Lou. Central 1 Trigg Co. 1 Harrison Co. 1 Prestonsburg TB: 35 pts.
  7. This summer did not go well for the Panthers. From the stands it looked to me as if the players were playing as individuals in the beginning. As the summer progressed, the players seemed to be coming together as a team. It is nice to see these boys start to build some chemistry.
  8. No critics on here sir, just stating opinions and facts. That is what this site is about right? :thumb: Once again good luck to Gallatin the rest of the year!
  9. I do give the kids from Gallatin credit. I said in my last post that they have talent there. I agree 100% that Coach Browning and Gallatin Co. have done a good job this year. I just do not see them as a 6-1 team. I believe that the schedule has alot to do with their record. I am not, nor will I ever, take credit away from Gallatin boys or any boys/team for that matter. I just think that the record does not completely reflect the team. This is just my opinion, nothing personal at all, just stating my opinion on the matter just how everyone else has.
  10. According to KHSAA, Evarts does not have the strongest schedule either. All that I am trying to say is that Gallatins schedule is not very strong, therefore are they as good as the 6-1 record? I know there is talent at Gallatin, Brown, Henson, Nunn, Florence, are all fine players, but I just do not see the team being as good as the record. As far as Owen and Carroll go, their schedule is pretty strong having CAL, DeSales, and Ludlow just to name a few. I look forward to seeing the Gallatin/Bellevue game. This game will prove alot to the people in this thread. Best of luck to both teams! :thumb:
  11. Who are these "guns" you speak of?
  12. But the teams they play are not high caliber teams. You can't argue with that. The games that they can schedule can be against good quality teams, not Evarts. Why not add some other competition?
  13. Agreed! I think Bellevue is too strong for Gallatin and I know Coach Eckstein will have them ready. Good luck to both teams! :thumb:
  14. I think that Gallatin Co. is a mediocre team. Against Carroll, the Panthers had them on the ropes and then one thing went wrong and Carroll let up. Owen Co. is just not a very good team overall. When Gallatin faced Frankfort it was a smashing 68-8 loss. Frankfort was a great quality team to be playing. Trimble was a quality win, not to make excuses for Trimble but Bird was not 100%. If a rematch were to happen, it could be a total different ball game with Bird playing at his best. Eminence has not done very much this year and Evarts I have no clue about. Bracken Co. is Bracken Co., enough said! The way I see it, the schedule is not very tough and when it gets tough the Wildcats struggle. (with the exception of Trimble) I think Bellevue will be a good test for Gallatin, that seems to be the only "test" on the schedule. Good luck to Gallatin the rest of the season!
  15. No, he was unable to play against Trimble. He is #50. He is arguably the best lineman Carroll has. The loss of him hurt Carrolls blocking tremendously.
  16. McIntyre has been out since week 3 with a broken hand. He suffered it against Spencer Co. and since then has had pins put in it. I hate seeing the kid go down being that it is his senior year.
  17. If the game you saw was at Gallatin Co. I was present there also. Carroll was missing a few varsity players due to football and illness/injury. Hendrick (sick), Yager (knee), Cable, Craig, and Brocious (football) to name some. But Trimble did show some good things. The player you speak of is Larry Sullivan, he had real quick moves on the court also.
  18. It is definitely not on Coach Weedman's head. He has done a great job for the program this year. The numbers are tremendous. Carroll has just been dealt a bad hand due to injuries. But Carroll must play the bad hand they have been dealt. Losing Rose at the beginning was tough, Rose's injury was followed by Josh McIntyre's injury. It has just been a string of bad luck for the Panthers. Watching the game Friday night and seeing the boys afterwards just seemed like this was the turning point for Carroll. Although it was a 3-0 win, a W is a W and the team seemed to be closer. Coach Weedman has done a fantastic job with the boys and the boys seem to love him as a coach. Good luck the rest of the season Panthers! Coach Weedman, I know you will do a terrific job, just how have you done so far! thumb:
  19. I believe they will beat Navy, Air Force, Stanford, Duke and have one upset against UCLA! I hope so anyways. Its a bad year for the Irish but I know that they still ahve heart. They will not give up this season, Weis will not let them. Keep on fightin' Irish!
  20. Can someone post the 8th Region for me please?
  21. WOW! The best? That is a very strong word. I have watched the kid play and he is good, but the best? I don't think he measures up to CJ Penny, Eric Dunlap, Billy Payne, Scott Brown, Ponzer from SK (not sure on first name), and the list goes on. Saying the kid is good I would agree with, but the best? Not in my eyes.
  22. All numbers speaking, Bird is the better runner. Nobody can deny that, its all in black and white. Carlton has had a couple good games and a couple mediocre performanes. The first game of the season he only had about 30 yards I believe. (Correct me if I am wrong) and against Trimble he had a breakout game. Bird is more consistant and in my opinion that makes him the better back. Best of luck to both boys throughout the season and playoffs!
