  1. They have a strong runningback returning in Daniel Rose, but the loss of some key seniors may hirt the Panthers. If the coach builds his offense right with the tools he has, he could have a decent team at Carroll.
  2. I can see what you are saying by parents pushing kids too hard where the kid is discouraged about playing anymore, but at the same time there are some kids that without the push of their parents or just a person that cares about them would not amount to the person that they are today. Im sure that even the greats wanted to quit at one time or another, but were pushed by someone who truly cared about them and now look at them. They are one of the greats you watch on TV today.
  3. This is kind of off the subject but I give Trimble and Coach Poynter props. He has done a great job at building that football program up. I only loook for good things to come out of Trimble for as long as he is there. And good luck to him this coming football season.
  4. I agree Lunatic. Some good athletes do not good involved in sports because of the schools not having it offered through the school. This takes away some of the kids hearts and passion for the game because they cannot play. Another thing is that Carroll is getting to used to losing. This is not how Carroll has been in the past and I hate to see it be that way now but you can tell by the way the players talk and act. It is like they do not care anymore. This is not how i remembered Carroll County athletics being. I can remember going to games when you had to fight through the crowd to get a seat in the stands. Now you can walk in during the second quarter and have great sideline seats. I hate to see the athletics dropping like this and I can only hope that it gets better.
  5. Absolutely sportsdad! It is Class "A" tournament time in Kentucky, what gets better than this? Good luck to all teams that have made it this far.
  6. I looked on khsaa and did see that they are #2 in the 3rd region. I cannot say much about the strength of schedule because I am not around 3rd region ball, but to go along with what True Blue said, you cannot rank the team on one game. Every team has one bad game and maybe the Oldham game was Owensboro Catholics. Look forward to seeing the 2 teams play Wednesday night. Good luck to both teams.
  7. Heart and pride. That is the biggest thing that I can the Panthers lacking. Watching them play the past few games I can tell that very few players actually go out and hustle. The talent is there, it just seems to me that nobody really cares anymore. They do not really have pride in the program and thats what leads to the down season this year. I also see a lack of leadership on the team, seniors need to step up because the Panthers have a young team this year with very little experience. I can just hope that the team can build from the bad season they are having and finish the season strong. The district tournament is still coming up and in tournament time, records do not matter, its anybodys game. Good luck Panthers on the rest of the season. I will be cheering you on!
  8. I look for LCA to take home the trophy in this tournament. I seen them play and what a great game they played. I wish every team good luck in the tournament.
  9. Congrats to Josh. Great Tight End and also a fantastic Defensive End. I would hate to be the one that lined up against this kid. Good luck in the future.
  10. No, not at all. I am just saying that you could see a little bit of favoritism towards the Wildcats. I was not trying to say at all that Carroll lost because of the officials. Even an official cannot blamed for a lost by that kind of margin. Carroll lost because they simply got out played by the Wildcats. Just the officiating could ahve been better.
  11. Yes indeed, great game by both the wildcats and rebels. I really wish there was two tournament MVPs because I think that Daniel Neeley had MVP performances through the whole tournament. When he wasn't scoring, he was dishing out assist, when he was on defense he was putting hard pressure on the ball. Just an all around great player in Neeley. Perkins also deserved the MVP because of his play, great scorer and defender. Perkins can play pretty much any position on the court. And Lunatic I am going to have to take Owen on the cheerleader fight. Not only was it intense with the ball players but the cheerleaders were going at it. I seen one cheerleader throw an elbow at the other but i also seen body guards take care of the situation. A very comical night on the sidelines.
  12. I did not say the guards had a great game, they did not by no means, but like i said earlier the touchy fouls on one end compared to the fouls on the other end was not evenly matched from the top section where i was sitting. I guess all i can say is, is everyone has their own opinion, nobody has to agree.
  13. Owen is hungry after an overtime loss to Gallatin at Owen which they should have won. I look for Owen to come out fired up and Neeley on fire. It should be a pretty fair match-up. Ill take Owen by 8.
  14. Well what i saw was Gallatin triple and double teaming Carrolls guards and hacking the guards pretty hard and no call being made but when you get to the other end of the court Carroll gets called for a hand check, that to me is showing a little bit favoritism.
  15. And when Gallatin loses the officials are not to blame? Come on now crazedcat...
  16. I agree with the first two, but good officiating? That is definitely a question mark. From where I was sitting it seemed to me the officials looked a little sided with the Wildcats. At one point in time Carroll had 10+ fouls and Gallatin had 4. We all knew it was going to be physical and each team did play physical. But all in all, good game by the Wildcats and look forward to seeing the outcome of tomorrows championship game.
  17. I do not think Coach Jones will rest his team. If he does rest his team, he better be ready for an upset. It is tournament time and you do not want to take anyone for granted. Carroll could come out and have the best game all year and Gallatin may not be ready. It will be another heated rivalry for Carroll Co. I cannot wait to see this match-up, it should be a very intense game. Im going to have to go early to get good seats, Eminence will be rocking tonight :ylsuper:
  18. Id say it will be a toss up. Carroll has been playing very well in the first half of games where they are leading or in the ball game. The second half is where teams take off against the Panthers and then before you know it, its too late. Trimble is coming off of a momentum win at home and look for the momentum to carry them into tomorrows match-up. Ill be looking forward to seeing the game from the stands. It is a rivalry, look for it to be an intense game.
  19. I was under the inpression that the game was only cancelled if Carroll won the first game
  20. I am also going to add that player vs. player, Daniel Neeley from Owen Co. can handle Edmondson. Neeley is a real playmaker.
  21. I look forward to seeing the Lady Panthers take the court at EKU. The way they are playing it seems to me as they may make some noise at Richmond. Good luck Lady Panthers.
  22. Welcome to the site sportsdad. Look forward to seeing your input on the games. Looks like you are also an 8th region fan
