If BGP thinks Christian is 6th and SV is 14th then I can tell you there is not much separating any of these teams because I watched them go head to head. Should be great regional tournaments and Sweet Sixteen this year.

No Doubt Christian has a gauntlet for a draw but the team I saw at SV a couple weeks ago seemed very game and well coached. I dont see them backing down from any challenge.

Good post. Im a Valley fan but this game went as it should have.....SV actually didnt play that well. They shot like 30% from the field in the first half.

SV's two weak spots really showed up as it usually does in big games. 1. Depth 1 player off the bench scored 5 points for SV. 2. Free throws.

Just in from the game. First off my hat goes off to Christian they walked into a very hostile enviroment and played well from the opening tip. Back and forth game I think the largest lead for either team was 7 points. CC is extremely fast from end to end. They won the game behind the arc. I will try to get some stats later but I could not believe how well they shot the 3 ball. #3(Lewis) for CC played a great offensive game inside and out. SV shot very poorly from the free throw line and it haunted them late in the game. Justice played very good. I will post the final stats when I see them and I dont wont to guess. He had only one turnover. He missed a game tying free throw with less than 2 seconds on the clock. I want to point out that CC is very well coached. He made good adjustments and a seemed to really know the X's and O's during the game. Great game to watch now it is time to get some rest and heal up to make a run at the ALL A.

I think they will decide as the game goes along. SV wants to win this game but I dont think they will take a chance on the rest of the season for it. For SV to win the All A and perform well at Rupp these two have to be on the floor period.

From what Ive heard they are both playing tonight but not at 100%. Any sign of trouble they will be pulled. Booher wants them ready to make a repeat run at the ALL A and will not chance losing one of them for a regular season game.

Talked with someone close to the program and they said Hatfield injured his back in the Championship of the ALL A and has not practiced this week. I think he will give it a go tonight but it is going to be a see how it goes type of thing. Also Justice did not practice on Thursday because of tendonitis in his heel. Talked to one of the trainers who said yesterday it was swollen. Horrible timing with this game coming up but I guess we will wait and see how it goes tonight.

Cant wait to watch this game. I see it going into the final minute. Both teams play hard and fast with two really good point gaurds. Throughout his career Justice normally has big games against teams who want to press SV so I will take SV in a nailbiter. The last team to beat SV at home was Lex Cath I think in 2004 when they were #1 in the state. SV 79 CC 77

Strongest WYMT field in many years. Knott and Perry are solid and will be playing in their backyard. SV may be the favorite but it wont be easy.

Walter I guess my point was that most knock SV by saying they cant play against teams with superior size and athleticism. I have never said they are unbeatable but I do believe they are better than some believe.

I watched all the teams mentioned in your post plus SV play in person on Dec 14th. Im not forming my opinion by looking up records on the internet.

Guys I think we all know SV shouldnt be #1. I think Ballard has earned that title. A lot of the teams within 2 hours of SV are very bad and SV is going to beat them badly which will keep them at the top of these type of rankings along with Cantrells.

BHR Miller Grove was a very solid win for SV. MG was every bit as athletic, long and quick as Eastern or Lawrence North. Justice torched them for 32 and MG tried to defend him with everything but the kitchen sink. Coach Booher has really dropped the ball with the schedule the last few years. SV finally has a team and one individual player who can play against top in state competition and he insist on the vacation tourneys. Of course that is just my opinion and he is the coach. I have seen the other teams in the state play and Im not going to argue on this board as the Elliot County fans did last year. There are a lot of good teams in the state this year and being in the top 5, 10, or 15 is an honor to a mountain school who has to fight and claw to get any recognition on a state level. SV can help itself coming up by winning the Mountain Classic this weekend and making another good run in the All A. They also have a game coming up with Christian County. Rankings are fun to talk about but if anyone thinks SV and Justice cant beat anyone in the state they are mistaken IMO.

I think there will be other schools to call also but he really likes what the Lousiville coaches are telling him.

Final from last night at the East Ky Expo. Great game Eastern led most of the night but North took over late in the game led by Chandler and Taylor. These two were impressive. Eastern has a very good, athletic team but was giving up a lot of size and it eventually took its toll.

The game started with Justice penetrating and dishing. Miller Grove tried to go to a zone trap to force the ball out of his hands and it didnt work. Then the they tried to press and deny him from getting the ball. Miller Grove was much bigger and IMO could have pounded it inside and probably won but they stuck with the press and Justice torched them. These were long, quick athletes and Justice dribbled through their press with ease. In the second half the Lousville coaches would just look at each other and laugh and shake their heads at some of the stuff he was doing with the ball. He capped that off with five straight 3's. The Miller Grove coach must have tried to defend him with at least 5 guys and Justice broke them all down on the dribble. I love his game and I dont deny that but last night may have been the best game I've personally saw him play.

Well...dont really know what to say. I think this is the way a lot of the 15th region games are going to be. Justice played as expected not going to guess at stats I will add when I get them. Interested in seeing SV play a good Miller Grove GA team on Saturday. IMO still some questions to answer on defense against a quality opponent. I will tip my hat to Sheldon Clark they played very hard and though frustrated they didnt quit.

Im guessing SV by around 20.

You guys get to watch Holmes and I do not being from Eastern Kentucky. This is not a question of talent. But come tourney time PG play is so important could this haunt Holmes later in the year?

With for Dunbar had a solid game inside. Dunbar had some scrappy athletic kids who played very hard. I can see them improving as the season moves along. Justice I believe had 25 and a solid game. One thing that SV has some work to do is defense. Last couple of years Justice, Bryant and Varney could really play loose and gamble a lot out front and if they got beat the other team had to shoot over their bigs. This season they do have the same presence at the rim. Overall a solid win and plenty of things to work on.

I agree that Perry County probably doesnt belong there yet but could very possibly play there way into the rankings. No ranking is going to be completely right but this is probably the best one Ive seen. IMO :thumb:

Its a great time....preseason and everybody has a chance.
