Bowman has several good players.

 

6'5 F Dejuan Marrero is rated the best sophomore in the state of Indiana and already holds offers from Indiana, Purdue, Ohio St, and Illinois.

 

6'1 PG Tyrae Robinson is another D1 prospect.

 

As for the game, I just watched it on ihigh and Holmes had ALOT of turnovers. They led by 11 early in the second half and 5 with two minutes to go but couldn't hang on to the ball or make their free throws down the stretch to win.

I think Holmes will fine once March rolls around, too much talent to worry about a loss in early December.

21 turnovers and good majority unforced will get you beat against good teams.

They had the same turnover problem against beechwood. They are just not clicking yet. I wouldn't worry about them. Hopefully its a wake up call that they can't just walk out on the court and play. They have the individual talent, just not gelling as a team yet. It's really really early.

Holmes will be susceptible to losses in NKY this year with Boone Co and Highlands having such strong veteran teams. I still think they are the favorite in the Region.

If I was Henley, my PG position would keep me up at night. RJ is NOT a point guard. If he is being forced to play that spot, he cannot be happy. Nothing worse than putting a player where he is not comfortable. IMO, this team could have some serious issues if the PG spot is not put in confident, capable hands.

I agree with you on this. They miss Riley a ton this season. The Dogs do not like to be pressured also and if you have guys playing out of position it creates issues with turnovers. They have some excellent talent who can dunk/shoot/slash/etc but I do NOT see anyone on that roster who is a Pure PG.

The lack of interest in this thread is mind boggling.

Bowman was impressive when I saw them play last year, and they have everybody back. Bowman would be a top-10 team in Kentucky.

 

You think maybe the Hoopfest people knew that when they made the matchup?

This loss should present Holmes with a good learning experience and help them come March

You guys get to watch Holmes and I do not being from Eastern Kentucky. This is not a question of talent. But come tourney time PG play is so important could this haunt Holmes later in the year?
