  1. No excuses, but we did lose to the top team in state... 3 other regions did as well. Louisville Butler was so good that they won the state tourny championship without their best player. Also I think that last year the first region girls drew Lexington Catholic, so bad draws 2 years in a row doesn't help...
  2. Henderson is very talented. I think they will win by 10. Played both this year, but watch point gaurd, center, and wing player, they are a very good team.
  3. The sixth and ninth rated player in the first region are the same player?
  4. Why is he not getting alot of looks from D1 programs, or is he?
  5. How Tall is he? Is there any big schools looking at him. Also he should be looked at as a Mr. Football canadite, for the lone reason he set the new national record for TD passes! What else can he do?
  6. Paducah, Kentucky, far western part of state. Was at game and this kid can play! Congrats to him, and his teamates.
  7. Prayers are with you, Coach Thomas
  8. What is Christian Co. doing, they have a great chance to win region, new coach should know that, who do you hire?
  9. what school did Howard play at? Would love to see her play in state.
  10. Kentucky just got a verbal from a big man from Rose Hill and on that thread alot of people talked about a Jackson kid, why is Rose Hill not the favorite. Not from that part of state, but curious why people don't think they have a chance?
  11. Wow, I know that all the class A schools in the second region, just hope that UHA does not get back to the status they had in the last part of last century. Impossible to beat! At that point in time privite versus public was not even a possibilty. What should be done to make private schools that win every year a Class A tournament? At that time they had 5 starters that started their first year at a D1 School. And plenty that made pro status! For these young kids sake, give a seperate tournament for public and private schools, and make rules for transfers
  12. Lets think about the percentage of public versus private schools. In the state of Kentucky probably 30 to 1, just a guess. With that being said your logic does not make sense!
  13. Any news on the Paducah Tilghman job?
  14. Just wondering? How many of these listings list people in western kentucky? I have been to the state tournament for the past ten years and seen alot of great players that deserve their awards, but it seems like there should be someone from western kentucky make it atleast sometime, or am I wrong? And maybe I am?
  15. Girls basketball is fairly new to this state against the boys side of the coin. To see so many small private schools win the girls side, then if they dont the big schools are the runners up. How can a 2A girls team ever, ever have a chance. Even if you have a great team and get out of the region by beaten two 4 A schools and two 3 A schools, then you get to state and have to face both private and 4A schools what are the chances for any small public team to win 9 games against that competition??? Does any one else have a logical answer (2 games district, 3 games regiong, 4 games state)? Or should there be another option for these kids?
  16. Now you are talking. You are giving the western part of the state(or all other small schools) a chance to compete one on one, that is a much better chance than 2000 against 300. For the 1A or 2A schools we will take that bet every day compared to what it is today!!!
  17. I know that in the 90's The boys team of University Heights out of Hopkinsville did it atleast once, and I think runner up the next year.
  18. I think I read the post correctly, "All Star Game", but no one actually mentioned the game that was played on Saturday. It was great to watch some of the best basketball players in the state play, enjoyable to watch and profits go to a great foundation. There were a lot of great players to watch and they put on a great show for the fans that were there. The East won with a great shooting 4th quarter after being down after 3, but winning in these types of games doesn't matter, just watching the great play of high school girls is what matters. Each region has plenty of great players, some more than others, but as a fan I enjoyed the game!
  19. Melly grew so much as a player over the last two years. She became an absolute team player over the last two years, last year she was asked to do everythinng on a bad team, but this year she blossumed, but this is a credit to her, she worked so hard in the off season and became a special player, I just wish she would get more credit at the state level. I know that watching her play was such a joy for me and so many other fans. Colleges will miss out if they don't recruit her, reason why, she has become the most coachable player I have met, and she will become an amazing player, just because she wants too.....
  20. Know, won't get many votes for player of the year since in far western kentucky, but I do hope Melly Heaton gets consideration for other awards. Averaging 25 points a game when every team targeted her with 3 freshman starters, led Caldwell to a 17-9 season. Great player, but also a great young woman, I hope her the best in college...
  21. I agree with PtownDude, Caldwell would be in a more geographically configured district to be back in the 5th. Never understood the change in the first place.
  22. Great Idea, wonder how KHSAA will handle this new 3 team district with Providence closing, this should have been taken into place before they re did the districts, now they have created another problem
