Will any EKy teams crack the Top 25 this year or this preseason? What are everyones thoughts? JBS, Shelby Valley, Elliott, Paintsville are they possibles?

IMO Elliot and Rose Hill should be pre-season top 25

I would have Elliott around #16-#18 and Rose Hill from #20-#25.

Corbin, Cumberland and June Buchanan could be in that category.

I wouldnt put Rose Hill in there. Coming off a 18-6 season, with there best win against Lexington Christian, they really didnt do anything big last season at all, they lost there first game in the district tournament by double digits to 15-14 Boyd County. Every one of there losses were by double digits. Elliot should be in there.

Corbin, Cumberland and June Buchanan could be in that category.

 

I concur. All 3 have very nice teams. Those along with Rose Hill and Elliot Co. all at the least should be in the top 25.

I would put Elliott in the top 25 and possibly JBS - both based on their performance last season and what they are returning this season. Rose Hill has the talent in place but hasn't earned a top-25 spot yet. I don't know alot about Corbin and Cumberland. I'm not sure what all Shelby Valley returns this season, but it seems like they have most of their team. They would be lurking around 25. Paintsville has a lot to prove IMO.

I don't think I would put Rose Hill in the 25 either , lost in first round of district. Not proved anything.

I can see Elliott County somewhere in the top 25, perhaps even June Buchanan. Of the teams mentioned in this thread, those are the only ones I can see in there at this point.

 

Shelby Valley missed a golden opportunity to show the state something at the Sweet 16. Paintsville has been overhyped for three years but hasn't backed it up very well. Rose Hill faded badly last year and has to show that they have something besides Euton and Chase Jackson. Corbin does have Crawford, one of the state's better juniors, and Cumberland has a pretty decent Class A team.

 

Still, all of those teams have to show a little more than they have so far.

The Big 3 from the 15th will be Shelby Valley, Pikeville, and Paintsville but the top 25 will probably be a stretch for them.

All 6 of them teams I expect to make an appearance in the top 25.

Manuel and Fern Creek are prob the only top 25 teams from the 7th. The 7th is down this year.

It's sad to see an old Evarts boy hatin' on eastern Kentucky.

 

The question was about what teams could crack the top 25. There will probably be 40 teams take a turn in the top 25 at some point. All those teams mentioned have a decent shot at making an appearance there. Cumberland just made it to the final four of the AAU tournament and beat some good teams along the way.
