Harlan County returns 7 starters and ALL of their pitching. Middlesboro beat HC in the district championship game 3-2 in 8 innings and HC lost to Corbin in the regional tournament on a walk-off home run....... Here is how i see it to start the season. 1. Clay 2. Knox 3. Corbin 4. Harlan County 5. North Laurel

You can watch it on iHigh...........both teams struggled to score early. There were several Harlan County players that had just played a football game the night before.

i would love to see him stay in "blue & white" if you know what i mean..........

Towles is very impressive.........he's strong and tough to bring down. He doesn't panic in the pocket and throws a great ball. He's probably the best high school QB i have watched since Tim Couch. Just my opinion........

HC will still be in 5A next season. Congrats to Highlands. Best of luck in the finals...........

I don't think there's any way that this game will be moved. This has to be a rumor.........If there is an issue with lights, it will be fixed! Harlan County is in the fortunate position to be hosting the 5A State Semi-Finals and the administration will do their best to make sure it is a memorable experience for all involved. This is also an opportunity to showcase our hospitality....

The football field will be turf.........not the baseball, all new sod! Covered grandstands, brick dugouts, indoor batting facility, etc. to match the school.

Harlan Countys facility is expected to be completed by next season!

After attending the HC/NL game myself, here are my observations....... 1) The concession prices seemed fair. I bought a large (32oz) drink @ $2.50 and a small popcorn @ $2.00. 2) My biggest complaint is that i purchased reserved seating for my family from ticketmaster at $9 each (6 tickets total). When i arrived our seats were occupied. When i went to an usher hy told me that "everybody was pretty much sitting where they want to". If i wanted general admission, that's exactly what i would have purchased. I expected my seats to be there for me when i arrived at halftime of the SL/Knox game.......... 3) It didn't really feel like tournament atmosphere to me. I guess i'm just to old school and think that the crowded gyms, standing in line, flat soda and way too salty popcorn :popcorn: is just part of the tournament atmosphere and experience........

Rutherford & Fields of Harlan County should be one of the best middle infield combos in the Region as well.............

That would be Tyler Boggs. He won several games last year as an 8th grader, including a win over Middlesboro in the district tournament. I look for a big year from this freshman!
