Who all was invited to attend the Football University's Top Gun Football Camp in mid July? This is supposed to be an elite camp. I know Franklin County's Wesley Watkins was invited as a Defensive Tackle and will be in attendance. He is starting to hear from Harvard, Army, Louisville and some MAC schools. He is up to 285 and is benching over 315 lbs. so I look for this camp to help the senior Flyer.

I know a kid who was invited, but is not attending because of the nearly $600 price to attend.

Frankfort had 4 kids invited. I am not sure if any will attend because of the cost.

Which four were invited?

Josh Genal from Beechwood will be in attendance.

Scotty Bailey - Harlan County High School will attend

These things are nothing more than fundraisers. Why do people SPEND thousands of dollars on "elite camps" to SAVE thousands of dollars on college tuition?

I agree..........but it think it's more about exposure than saving money. IMO

Seems like a scam. May be a really good camp but I couldn't imagine it would be elite.

It's really not elite, though there are a few elite players at the camp, the bottom line is you pay you'll get an invite.

My son went to one of these, Worst camp for the money we ever spent. MONEY is all this camp is about.

My son attended an FBU camp in Miami Fl and I will not say worst camp, but not great and definately overpriced. I will warn those ahead of time, dont confuse this camp with combines. They will not test or time the kids. Instruction only. And I am a little confused by the "Top Gun" label of this thread. My understanding is Top Gun is the MVP of each camp throughout the US along with about another 100 Elite of the Elite ballers in the US. Players already commited to the USC's, Texas, Floridas of the world. Not saying these kids are not that caliber but just curious. Good Luck to all of those attending.

That is a label they put on a kid to try to get him to spend another $600.00 to go to another camp. Really not worth the price. Way overated. When we got the invitation to attend, it said by invitation only, leading one to believe that it would be the top kids around. That was not how it was. Some of the kids were not very skilled and they had 6 graders mixed in with seniors. Def. not worth the money, FBU would be a good K-6 camp for young kids.
