  1. I would love for the Royals to get another shot at Montgomery. It was an absolute joke the way the game ended at the Fieldhouse, I'm sure the kids would very much look forward to playing them again. Campbell County won't be easy, but it's a game they "should" win. As for Monday night, IF it happens, it would be a proper ending to this amazing chapter in their rivalry.
  2. Figured we would see a whopper of a 1st round matchup, my goodness.
  3. Looking at the Royals stats from the first meeting, a few things really jump out. Setty with 34, Black and Gilbert each had 9. Mason County also shot just 5 for 14 from free throw line. Of course having Neal will make a huge difference, I would think the Royals "should" win by 10 or more.
  4. If it plays out the way the season has, going to be one heck of a tournament.
  5. If the Royals can get by the Camels and Clark takes on Scott on Saturday, looks like I might have to go to both semifinal games.
  6. I have no problem with whomever Mason County draws, the kids won't have to worry about overlooking anyone to get at Clark County. Campbell County came down to a last second shot and we all remember what happened when Montgomery came to the Fieldhouse. I would think those games alone will have their attention. Even though the Royals beat Scott going away in the 1st game of the year, Scott came out and was hitting 3's left and right, that's the only reminder they need to not take anyone lightly. Can you imagine if we do get a Clark Mason Saturday night game, especially if it's the second game of the night. Being a split session, the line of people waiting to get in and then you have everyone who is leaving the gym wanting to get back in to see the second game. Going to be a tad bit of a cluster, IF it happens.
  7. As we saw tonight with Lexington Catholic or anyone from the stronger districts. It's not fair that they still wouldn't get a shot at the region title. In the case of Trinity not even get into the region.
  8. Wow, so now we are talking 7 or 8 dollars a ticket? Which I guess isn't too bad if you are seeing the two games on Thursday, Friday. BUT Saturday is a split session, 16 dollars?? Do we have to pay for the 3D glasses too?? School's phone # is 606-564-5563
  9. I saw it first hand against Bishop Brossart when Pawsat got to play. Within seconds of coming in, he was getting his hands on loose balls and just a presence on defense. Any points he can give them is a bonus, it's just a huge difference having him on the court.
  10. I think the parking right out front is reserved for that very reason, you might want to call and ask. I know they have two people there watching whoever pulls in, so I'm sure it's faculty only, handicapped, etc. I just hope that Clark and Mason are opposite sides of the bracket again, no disrespect meant to any other 10th schools, but a Monday night showdown would be the proper way to close this chapter of the rivalry.

  12. Royals win their 11th straight District Championship and 34th in 51 years of basketball. Good luck to Augusta next week.
  13. Knights will play Tates Creek on Friday in 43rd District Championship
  14. Ballard will play Seneca on Friday in the 27th District Championship Parker 35 for Bruins
  15. Congrats to the Mustangs on a nice season, a shame one of these two teams had to go home before the regional.
  16. Looking forward to the broadcast, I'm jacked up for this game and I don't have a rooting interest. Just remember listening to every second of their first meeting and can't imagine tonight being any different.
  17. I'm happy because they took a step forward. I'm also happy because you can take anything and turn it negative, it's a gift, you should be proud.
  18. According to what I read it will be assistant coach Sean Noble
  19. They won 5 games, TOTAL, the last 2 years. You mean to tell me their schedule was that much harder, they were losing to everyone. Last year they were outscored on average 64-45. The year before that it was an average loss of 79-55. They will lose to Ashland, go to Morehead and lose in the 1st round, I doubt anyone would say differently. But that is far, far better than going 2-21.
  20. KHSAA website is awesome, I wish all states would lay things out like they do. Oh well, I digress. ANYHOO, they made it to Morehead in 2001, 2007 and now this year. 2001 was also a 1st round exit.
  21. 1st Round of the 43rd District Tournament. Tates Creek will play the winner of Lexington Catholic/Lafayette on Friday.
  22. 2007, lost to Elliott in the 1st Round by 15. The more amazing stat is that Boyd County hasn't won the 16th since 2000. If you want to throw their longtime rival Ashland in the mix, the Tomcats haven't won the 16th since 2002.
  23. The last stats report that was updated on the KHSAA website shows Augusta at 62 percent for the year from the line. So really, they weren't that far off their season average.
  24. at Rowan Fleming led 55-53, Bath had the ball, a shot was blocked, free throws hit and then Bath hit a 3 at the buzzer to give us the final score.
  25. 1st round of the 42nd District Tournament. Scott County will play the winner of Henry Clay/Sayre on Friday
