  1. Thanks for posting stats. Western Brown any good? I guess I could text family in Adams County, but I'm lazy lol
  2. Mason County 25-13 after 1 50-30 at half 70-40 after 3 Stats to follow
  3. Royals up 50-30 at half per Danny on Twitter
  4. Even more impressive than that Royals win total is that in 55 years of basketball they have had just 5 losing seasons, haven't had one since 1989-1990. 49 years of 15 wins or more, including this year. Now if they can just figure out a way to beat Augusta in a couple months. lol
  5. These win totals are from the KHSAA website. It's pretty darn phenomenal what Mason County has done in comparison to other schools that have had a program much longer.
  6. At this rate, maybe Tilghman can catch Ashland for winningest school in state.
  7. Danny Weddle Twitter Mason Co. scoring: Henry 23, R. Johnson 18, O'Mara 14, A. Williams 6, Thomas 6, D. Johnson 5, Boone 4, Sweeney 2, D. Williams 1
  8. Royals will play Lincoln County tomorrow in semis of Gateway Holiday Classic at Montgomery County.
  9. There is video from that 2010 regional final between Clark and Mason, recorded by Terry Setty. I guess it's good that it appears I haven't gained any weight since then lol I gave a few players a hug, including coach O'Hearn on the floor. Truly remarkable. Isn't it amazing to think, it's been 5 years since the Royals have won a regional title. Granted, they really haven't been the best team in region in that time. It just brings back that fun discussion about home court advantage, ah memories : )
  10. Never thought the day would come when Ashland would start a season 0-8, my goodness gracious.
  11. Final With the win, the Royals are 15-4 on the year. In 54 years of basketball, Mason County has had 48 seasons of 15 wins or more and only 5 losing seasons, the one other year they were 13-11. I know that doesn't mean anything to where this group can go in March, but my goodness gracious. : )
  12. Danny had posted the game would start late, I was waiting for him to post quarter updates and when I didn't seen anything, I couldn't understand what was going on. THEN out of the blue, he posts the final, oh well darn. I don't live in KY anymore and just heard about Shane Hall being Mr Basketball contender, those numbers show that. Goodness.
  13. Congrats to Royals on win. Still see a lot of familiar faces on here, great. lol
  14. If Rowan can pull it off tonight they will be the first 16th Region team in 50 years to win a state title. Good luck to the Vikings tonight! :thumb:
  15. I believe this is Christian County's 16th trip to the Sweet 16, will be their 3rd final. No matter what happens in the 2nd semi, we will get a first time state champion for one of the schools. Pretty darn neat.
  16. Clark County's last two losses at the Sweet 16 by a total of 38 points. Good luck to Eastern tomorrow.
  17. They are simply showing why they are hands down and without debate, the #1 team in the state.
  18. Clark County's most talented class of kids in 20 years and they will end their career with a total of 1 win at Rupp.
  19. Congrats to Rowan on their 5th regional championship!! Ashland's regional drought will now reach 10 years.
  20. Alright, now that I have taken a nap and everything sunk in, I can give a much longer response. First things first, congrats again to Pendleton County on the win, they won't be given much of a chance Monday, but I'm sure that's just the way they want it. They had a response each time it seemed like the Royals would right the ship, they were physical, aggressive and didn't back down. You could tell early on the refs were going to let them play, I know that neither team was in the bonus in the 1st half. Good luck on Monday against Clark County. With that said, now I can move on to a few other things. Since I got to the game really early, I went over and met Sumo Royal and talked to him a few other guys at the scorers table for about 20 minutes. I planned to go over and introduce myself as homeless camel and thank him for coming on the board and explaning the "foul-gate" from Montgomery/Pendleton game. I didn't even get the words "homeless camel" from BGP out of my mouth then he said "I know who you are, a few years ago Murph told me that the guy sitting on that side of the gym is homeless camel" I was totally floored, I never met Murph, always saw him at the games, but never felt a need to go meet him. I literally got choked up knowing that he kinda knew of me even though we had never met. It was a really nice conversation, the day didn't end the way we wanted, but the beauty of this game is that next year is right around the corner. I was also sitting with some people from Peebles and when Treg's mother came over, I told her congrats on Southern Illinois and so forth. We were joking about Treg going to Hawaii for a THIRD TIME. Southern Illinois is scheduled to play in Hawaii next year for a Christmas tournament. I always saw Kim at the games since I watched Trevor play his junior and senior year, but never really had any reason to bother her. Last, but not least, we all need to remember this Mason County team had to overcome a huge deficit late in that playoff game against Elliott, had to come back from a double digit deficit against Clark County in the title game 2 years ago and last year trailed for most of the game before coming back to win. You can't always win and goodness knows the Royals were due to lose one of these eventually. They are still the only team in the 10th region to win THREE straight titles in the last 60 plus years, Mason County has now done that three times. Good luck again to Pendleton on Monday, would be nice to see those kids bring home a 4th region title for the school.
  21. After having to endure that brutal Mason County boys loss today, I needed something to cheer me up and this helps. Boyd County's first regional title since 2003, had lost to Ashland 4 time this year.
  22. Congrats to Pendleton County, good luck Monday.
  23. I was just reading the feedback on Twitter and according to replays from those who were there, it was clearly a 2 and should have only tied the game. Wow, I do feel for the Tates Creek kids.
