First, anyone making $20K a year is not paying a federal income tax. Also, they are most likely getting some sort of assistance like HEAP or food stamps, not to mention a medical card. Second, if you still owned your business, you should be able to pay whatever wages you want to pay. The gov't should not tell private industry how to pay their hired help. It's none of their business. Third, every time the minimum wage is raised, as mentioned before, the resulting raise in prices of consumer goods offsets the benefit of the higher wage to those making it. The ultimate loser when higher wages are mandated by the feds is middle class America. We don't get a raise, but the goods and services we use everyday go up. We take it up the wazoo again. The government sticks their nose in where it doesn't belong on too many things, while letting corruption on Wall Street run rampant, and then use our $ to bail out those crooks. I blame this on Dems and Reps, but the minimum wage issue is mainly a democrat thing.

This will kill the economy.

There are several health care professionals on this board. Plenty of doctors, nurses, and EMT's, just to name a few.

Sounds like night time teeth grinding. It is stress related, and will only get worse when the next administration takes office.

The world is celebrating for one reason. The fact that a man of color has won the most powerful office on the planet. Nothing more, nothing less. Straight up race bias. If you think a common person living in a 3rd world country cares about this country, you're nuts. If Obama favored his white family, rather than black, this world wide party would not be happening. It is solely race related.
