I did not like when Henry Co. fans came on the board and made the statement about wanting to dominate 1a and 2a schools, however, I hate to see them lose like this and hope they recover and play well against Central. They have a good team and have really improved this year. Good win for Scott. Good Luck to Henry Co,

I saw SC play this summer and I am not sure who LeCompte is but the whole team was very different in their talent level. I agree on the Coaching though! I think SK and AC will be at the top, but I think there could be some surprises.

I (of course) think Carroll is going to be very strong.! Lost 1 starter and got 1 back that was out last year.! Seriously, I am a homer and always think we will do well, but I am looking forward to seeing this team play together. They have not played together yet this year. Their younger girls played league ball in the spring and did well which hopefully have given them a lot of confidence. A lot of good things going on in the 8th and it would be great to see a small school make some noise this year. several will be good: Gallatin Williamstown Carroll these all come to mind Owen lost most of their scoring and may have a struggle at the beginning of the year.

I think you are right about Stith and I am not sure where they get this information. She is in my opinion about number 6 on this list.

It was Gallatin that nearly upset Shelby Co. last year.. but Owen Co. will be a good team this year also.

He has a fractured jaw, it is doubtful that he will be back this season. Huge loss for Carroll.

Congratulations to Henry on their win. Carroll had an injury Friday night to a key player. I hope he gets good news this week and will get to return this year. Overall, I am OK with not scheduling Henry again. I like playing rivals that winning or losing have some respect for their opponenet. I was cheering for them in 3A and was happy they were having such a good year. After Friday night I hope that they end up at the bottom of their district. Not because we lost, but because Henry does not know how to win.

I think Trimble actually beat Henry last year, so you can change that to 1 year. However, they need to do what is best for their team in the long run. Maybe we will give them a close game or win and then we will be worthy of a schedule next year!

As far as not playing Eminience and Carroll..maybe they are trying to add more 3A schools so they can play teams their same class. My understanding is that Henry requested to be either the 1st or last game on the Carroll schedule, Since Carroll is already committed to playing Gallatiin first ( another rivalry game) and does not want to play Henry right before play-offs they can not commit to this. I am not sure why Henry wants to change the time that they play, maybe a Henry fan can shed some light on that. They have historically always played at roughly the same time in the season. I hope it works out.

Why would this be one of the last times you play Carroll? I would hate to see the rivalry die. It is always a good game and gets the crowd out.

I am not sure. I know when they put together the All A they rank those players, but I have not seen anything by region. I am sure Tolliver (SK) and Fultz ( ACHS) are near the top. I am not sure of any of the names at Shelby this year.. and the Oldham's lost so many Seniors and I can not remember any of their Junior stand outs. You have 2 nice players at Gallatin ( Jones and Balsiger) and W-town has Stith, WV has Dixon, Henry has Mings., Grant has their point guard coming back off of an injury,.Carroll has several strong returning players. But I have no idea how any of them would rank in the region. That is why our region is so interesting this year. Anything could happen.

Gotta go with the Panthers. They have some players out to the injury bug but I think they will come back strong this week. Henry has a great team this year.. I am not sure why is it is so important to dominate single A and AA schools..though. I am glad they are doing well and look forward to the rivalry between the schools.

Not that I disagree with you but Summer ball is really no way to judge any team. Most of the time teams are missing many players and most Coaches use it as a training tool. But based on the records last year and who every team lost to graduation along with JV and Fresh Districts, I think Henry is still probably a year away from having a consitent competitive team in the 8th region. I think the districts will be tough with all the teams in the 31st though. They do have some very good athletes on their team and could surprise some.

If a head Coach does not meet the minimum requirements that are in the KHSAA guidelines, and is hired because they were the only applicant. Should that position be re-opened the next year to try to find someone suitable and qualified. This is not a football question but a different sport, and you all seem to know the rules so I thought I would ask. Especially if teachers that are qualified and want the job are hired into the school system.

If i'm not mistaken Carroll only lost two seniors to graduation. They have many contributors returning this season, as well as a strong senior class. The fans are looking forward to a Coach with a positive attitude. Time will only tell.

I just received a bracket and (that said revised) and that is what mine is also. I know because it changed Carroll Co. first game from Dayton to Metcalfe Co. Beechwood is not in ours either. Maybe they cancelled. It is tough because the districts start on Monday.

I know the info is out there..can anyone post the pools and brackets?
