Henry started slow, because of turnovers, but they were able to kick it the 2nd Quarter to take a 28-0 halftime lead.

Magness did more with his legs than his arm tonight. I have to give credit to the Henry OL: Fraze, Ingram, Price, Quire, Pigram, Nutter and Waldrup. I thought Henry won the game in the trenches.

 

Carroll had several players that I liked, sorry but I can only use numbers #32, 14, 19 (Defense was tough), 34 and 11. Carroll will be a tough out in AA.

Henry played a very good game tonight. However, was there a need to onside kick twice when you are leading 40-14 and 47-14? I do not think that is a very classy showing. That was the only thing that I seen that I disliked about Henry. That shows no sportsmanship at all. Carroll County needs to keep their heads up, they will be just fine. Congrats to the 2008 N.C.K.C. champs from Henry County. This year they have outscored their conference opponents 210-20. I think that falls into the dominant category by any one's count. All American you want to talk sportsmanship when Carroll had 4 unsportsmanlike and personal fouls on one play? I suppose your idea of class and mine don't match up to well.

How many of those personal fouls were legit? I would say one of them was. And is that a reason to run a score up? I do not think Henry should be called "dominant" by defeating A and AA schools when they are 0-2 in their district play against AAA schools. "Dominant" is a word you use when you are a similar team to Trinity, Highlands, Fort Campbell, Beechwood. These are dominant teams because they compete with the best of the best and demolish district opponents. Sorry to rain on your parade 'ol#70 but Henry is no where near the teams like 6A Trinity or 1A Beechwood. I also believe there were two penalties called on one play, not four. A personal foul on Carroll and an unsportsmanlike on Henry. Let this be a lesson to other teams. Two wrongs do not make a right! Best of luck to Henry the rest of the season! :thumb:

You gotta' crawl before you can walk. Henry County is making the transition to become a good football program. It doesn't happen overnight or in one year's time even. Many factors go into a good program. Among them are youth feeder programs, middle school program, school administration support, football facilities such as the new fieldhouse that we got into this year, community support and a solid coaching staff in place. Henry County now has all these pieces in place. They will continue to get better and better. I would not begin to compare Henry to any of teams that you mentioned. Only compared them against the NCKC competition. Anyways, next year there will be a new conference champion. Good luck to your Panthers.

Get your facts straight 70. The 2 penalties (not four) were in response to calls made, not aggression against your Wildcats. I thought it was a pretty clean, hard-fought game with a few minor altercations, which are going to happen in rivalry contests. All American was referring to on-sides kicks up by 28+ in the fourth quarter and trick plays on extra point attempts (which failed by the way) up 34-7. I hope we can find a way to keep this series going in the future because what goes around comes around. Henry County would be a decent A or AA team. They have proven that (210-20). But it gets a little more even in their own district (0-2, outscored 56-48). Just another team on those teams schedule I guess. :fire:

The second was for who know's what by a CC player and the third, on HC, was due to a player talking to his teammate and trying to get him to calm down after having been drilled 4 yards out of bounds in the back (either way HC needs to remain calm no matter what happens). Second, no trick plays involved, HC missed the extra point and went for two using the swinging gate they lined up in. If you FAIL to adjust it's automatic. Third, not an onside kick. If you keep your kicking team back, HC has shown they will pooch the ball (they pooch atleast 90% of their kicks). I noticed that with 11 minutes to go a majority of the JV was cycled into the game for HC, and by 8 minutes to go HC was able to get just about everyone into the game. Henry didn't throw a deep ball from the 3rd quarter on. If they wanted to run it up, they really could have. You also speak like there is a major contrast in enrollment. Go check the numbers, HC was less than a handfull of males in the school from being AA-Not exactly David and Goliath here. I also recall the stout butt-kicking handed out in 2006 by CC and nobody was crying the score was run up then. Either way, I think CC has a good bunch and will give Desales all they want. Not by throwing it deep. You have a very good running game and why you don't utilize it better is beyond me. While you ran very well against CC I thought the Panthers handled your passing game pretty well. And why in the world, up 34-7, late in the 3rd quarter you would even think about going for 2 in that situation is beyond me, especially with the great place kicker that you have. Why show it, for the lack of a better reason. I'm sure Spencer County appreciated that. Nobody is crying about the score being run up. 47-14 is a respectable score and I'm sure you probably could have tacked on another score somewhere along the line. You even kneeled the final series. I was just complaining about the pooch kicks and the 2-point tries when the outcome was long decided. Good luck against the Bears.:thumb:

I agree Super B ,If HC keeps throwing the rock they would have been in trouble.HC is solid up front, its beyond me why they sling it around the yard so much especially against a undersized foe.Good luck to both schools down the stretch.:thumb:

Looks like Henry is going the other way to me. As they beat North Oldham and Western hills last year and that did not happen this year. Also Henry had most of there players back from the team that beat does guys last year.

 

Maybe they can get Spencer this week and keep them from going to Central right off the bat.
