Good questions. Is somebody taking charge of this (a coach or AD from one of the schools??). I know there used to be an "All NCKC" team. Hadn't seen it done in a while. Would be good for that to happen again and help promote the conference in football, Lord knows it gets plenty of pub in basketball.

The NCKC has been around for years. All of the teams mentioned are in the conference in some sort of capacity. Henry is having a good football season and deserves the credit they have earned. I do believe to take the next step they need to schedule some tougher non district games. All of you all that are complaining every week about scores being so lopsided, remember those statements when Gallitan is beating everybody by 20+ in basketball.

Carroll had an injury Friday night to a key player. I hope he gets good news this week and will get to return this year.

 

Overall, I am OK with not scheduling Henry again. I like playing rivals that winning or losing have some respect for their opponenet.

HC did not do anything that was classless. They scored in the 4th while running the ball. They pooch kick every time. They have the swinging gate like a lot of teams. Quit trying to drag HC down. They, like everyone else, are trying to build a program the right way. There will be stumbling blocks along the way...it won't be perfect. I can say that the coaching staff will do everything they can to do it the right way.

 

So focus on how CC can become better, not how you can appear HC to look worse.

Friday night was not the right way and that is the point that needs to be made. Note to other teams: When you are ahead 40-14 in the 4th quarter, go ahead and kick it deep, no onsides, I mean "pooches", are neccesary. Bets of luck to all teams :thumb:

 

And for the record Carroll is a much better team than the past three years. Coach Weedman and the staff has focused on how CC can get better, and CC has become better.

CC is learning how to look better all on their own, thanks to the hard work of their coaching staff. How HC looks to multiple people is a result of how HC presents themselves.

 

I hope that Wise is okay. Seems like some HC people would be concerned about that, if you want to leave a "classy" impression.

Football Addict - Sweet Avatar! Go Blue Go Eagles! Although yesterday they did not go far! HC is an aggressive, physical hard hitting team that is trying to get to the next level. They work very hard! CC fans lets focus on us and use our energy for the betterment of our program and ending the this season with a winning record. Let's push our boys to work harder so this no longer happens! Let's be happy about the fact that our neighbors up HWY 55 have a team that can make a run in the playoffs. It was just HC's year. I have to say that just in the last few years I have been watching the NCKC football and basketball programs. Almost all of the teams in this conference Henry,Carroll,Trimble,Eminence,Gallatin and Owen have all come a long long way with their respective Football programs to say that any 1 team is dominant in the NCKC is absolutely ridiculous, last year Trimble beat all except Gallatin in the regular season then turned around and beat them in the playoffs, this year they have lost to all of them and Henry is currently the top dog so to speak. But for a Team to say they are dominant they need to be the top dog year after year after year and none of you have been that so continue all your good work and loose your stupid egos and play some more football. Keep your programs strong and growing and we will see you all in the trenches.Oh and lets not forget that it is supposed to be all about the kids anyway.

From what I have seen when the kick it deep is that they don't cover well and seem to stray from their lanes. So don't take it personal when they pooch it, its just the fact that they don't want the other team to run one back.

There's a difference in pooch kicking 25-30 yards down field and 10 yards. When your linemen up front are signaling fair-catch thats on-sides in my book.

I have thought about this game all weekend and still hesitate to comment but I cant resist. First of all on the rationale for pooch kicking ,on sides or whatever one chooses to call it. I find it very hard to believe that a team as skilled as HC has a difficult time executing a fundamental skill such as tackling. Therfore I do not buy the argument on being afraid someone is going to run it back on them. Whether it is classless or not could be debated all day. The fact of the matter is let them try it against a highly skilled offensive team 90% of the time then check the scoreboard.

That leads to my final point. WE (CC) just need to start taking care of our own teams and getting to the point we go out with the EXPECTATION of winning games. Many of our teams play HOPING we can win or somehow gain a moral victory. We do not go out with the mentality that we are going to beat someone and make them like it. Whenever we get to that point we won't have to get on forums such as this and celebrate when we beat a mediocre team or complain when we lose to an average team. Ill say it again, we have the players and the coaches we just have to change the culture.
