Spoonamore (sp?) could not miss, he really carried the Demons on this win. CC will be fine, it will take time to get the new system down but when they executed it they led the game. I think W-Town will win a lot of games if this player continues to shoot like he did against CC.

Pretty much the same issue as CC.. That is always the way at small schools. I thought the Carroll Defense was tough and kept Shelby from their game. Shelby has a nice team and played well. Really did not see them struggle except shooting against Carroll's zone. What number is Lacompte? I thought 15 for Shelby played well.

Carroll was ahead by 5 in the third quarter Down by 1 at the start of the 4th but just could not hang on for the win. Good job Lady Panthers that was a tough first game,. Congrats to the Rockets..

I have not heard of any injuries at GC. I hope not! I think this will be an interesting match-up with Trimble as an unknown. I think GC will have the experience and shooting to win this one. However, I have not seen Trimble play so I am judging this on last year. Good luck to both teams.!

Going with My Panthers! They are looking very good and I would never bet against them. Shelby will be a tough match-up and a good test for them. I hope we get the win.

Got to go with the Panthers, but playing at WIlliamstown, with their great fan support and their 6th man ( the band )can be tough. Panthers by 10.

Would love to see GC win this but I do not know anything about SK this year.

I like a few a year.. but I also like them to be separate. Our School teams boys and girls both support each other so it is nice to have something to do all the time. So many of the players play on at least JV and Varsity that it is hard on the kids. Weekend double headers are great though. I would like to see them on Saturday and have the JV game early in the afternoon.

We just have more homers on BG PREPS than anyone! Maybe that should be the Poll. Just like everyone on here we all want our teams to be the darkhorse. No offense taken from this fan.. the Lady Panthers just have a big following. Not sure what team you are for, but it would be very hard to click that button for another team. That is like betting against your self. Maybe the Poll should have read.. other than YOUR team who might be the Darkhorse?...LOL

I agree, Yager will probably look at the competition and see who matches up with them the best. That is the best thing about having this deep of a team..there could be many different starters in the season and I really do not think the boys on this team care. They seem to have 1 goal and that is to win a lot of games. Even when they were playing each other in the preview they had a lot of respect for each others abilities. I thought they looked great.. and I wish them the best. It was a great opening for the fans to have the preview with both the girls and boys. Many cans of food were raised for the food pantry also.

They were pretty intimidated in that game, starting a Fresh and and 8th grader with no one over 5'9" However they came from 25 down to get within 8 points. I thought that showed a lot of determination. SK was a great team and had a very good game and year. I guess we will see. I can not wait for the season to begin. CC makes sure to schedule South Oldham, Shelby and Oldham every year. They also play in some tough tournaments to try to get some of those games in while still playing their NCKC and District games. I like the way their schedule is set up. I definitely think the small schools should play as tough of a schedule as possible. The biggest difference in the small vs large is often the bench. Many times you might be ahead at the half but you just do not have the guns to keep up the pace. Most A schools are lucky to have a good 6 man rotation.

I have seen all of these giirls play many times and I can tell you that Stitch is top 5. By the way I am not from Williamstown so I have no one in the fight. BY the end of the season this list wil be completely revised. Some of these girls teams will not even have winning seasons. I hope the girls ignore them and play hard.

I think Spencer will be good also, it is too bad they are in such a tough district. Remember soon everything will be proved on the court.

Carroll Plays Shelby at Shelby their first game of the season. The young Panthers will really be tested to see what they can come up with against the Rockets.

Girdy was a great player but she also was out of many games with foul trouble. I think this year the CC Panthers will play more team ball and will be very good. Girdy was not the top scorer in most games but was a great leader on the floor. I heard the same line last year when Ballinger left, CC was down and would be at the bottom but they found a way to win. All they can do is work hard and prove that they can get the W. Their year will be very exciting as well as many others in this region.! Watch out for GC and Williamstown. I think they will deliver some upsets also!

Craig or Borocious may start also depending on the opponent. Any of those 7 would be a strong combination for the Panthers. Looking forward to seeing them play this Saturday. They also have several Soph that may see some time.

Some of the teams from the original schedule dropped out but I do know the following will be there: Carrolll Portland Christian Gallatin Ludlow Trimble Owen Henry and Scott High Starts at 10:00 am with Carroll playing Portland Christian.

Congrats to the CC Panthers on a great Season and being part of turning the CC Program around. We had a lot of injuries this year but kept playing hard and made Carroll County proud. Good Luck to HC, DeSales is a great team and I would not compare the CC Team that you played against the one that played Desales. DeSales is going to be a tough game. Good Luck to many of the CC boys as they go into Basketball season.

SHould be some good basketball today and tomorrow for these scrimmages. It will be nice to get a peak at some of these teams. Carroll plays Holmes at 10:15 on Saturday, but their are 5 games starting at 5:00 today.

Panthers will come out strong and win this one.
