Carroll was ahead by 5 in the third quarter Down by 1 at the start of the 4th but just could not hang on for the win. Good job Lady Panthers that was a tough first game,.

Congrats to the Rockets..

Sounds like this game was tight through 3 quarters. Did Carroll apply pressure to the Rockets

Shelby is going to struggle for a while with this new, almost all-guard lineup. They're having to play LeCompte at forward right now - and I suspect they'll have to play her there all season, although she's a more natural "2".

Shelby is still Shelby. They have a nice ball club that is well coached. They always play hard and will have a successful season.

I just missed my prediction.

Pretty much the same issue as CC.. That is always the way at small schools.

I thought the Carroll Defense was tough and kept Shelby from their game. Shelby has a nice team and played well. Really did not see them struggle except shooting against Carroll's zone. What number is Lacompte? I thought 15 for Shelby played well.

LaCompte is #11, she had 11 points and 11 rebounds and sit out the second quarter with 2 fouls. #15 is Stucker, is had 10 points and 7 rebounds and a very nice game. When Shelbys shots start falling they will be a nice ball club.

The freshman point gaurd whom is serving a 2 game suspenion will help a lot on both ends. Defense still has a long way to go to be successful.

Too bad Shelby will almost certainly force Sally Zimmerman to step down as coach at the end of this year (because she's just recently been named the Athletic Director). Sally's teams are always exceptionally well-prepared, and I think she's worth about 10 points as their coach.

I don't think anybody's going to need to shed any tears for the Lady Rockets...they'll be a tad different than recent teams, but they will still win their fair share of games.

I'll be broadcasting Friday's Shelby County - South Oldham game on Pegasus Sports. That one will be very interesting as South is undergoing a major makeover this season...
