:notworthy: Great post! I didn't hear any grumbling down where I was, but I usually purposely sit down away from the throngs. I didn't think the play calling was bad, but the execution at times was off. I thought that had more to do with Ashland's awesome defense than it did anything myself. I saw you action taping up #77's head! I started to go down to the railing and introduce myself but you were very busy and I didn't want to bother you. Maybe next game i will make a "Sidelinedoc 3:16" poster. :lol:

Rams learned tonight speed kills. I am really impressed though with Farley's ability to stand in the pocket and make throws. For a first year starter he shows no fear back there, but a couple times he tried a little too long for something to develop or dumped it off short for losses and took a couple of sacks. Still though rhat is better than forcing a throw and turning it over multiple times. Overall I was really impressed with his arm. Rams went down 16-0 in 2nd but went on a good drive. Mckee just needed about one more inch of fingers to haul in a huge play that might have shifted momentum, after that missed opportunity there was just nothing doing. Tomcats defense was swarming to the ball. A couple of times Rams running backs got a glimpse of day light, but they just didn't have the extra gear like others did in the past to get through the hole. Wish Barr could have played they could use him. Ashland is simply better. They are not big, but they are fast and their line has quick feet and gets off the ball well. Alger played a great game and if he gets a sliver day light he simply has another gear and before you know it he is 20 yards down the field. I couldn't even tell they were missing Carter, they didn't skip a beat. Tomcats were just the better team. Rams have to shake this one off and get ready for Fleming County. For Ashland the 2009 season is so bright they might want to look into wearing sunglasses under their helmets.

It's supposed to rain all day. How does a muddy field effect a speedy Ashland team? Or will they just postpone the game until it dries out! :sssh: :lol: I kid. Seriously though do the wet conditions change the game any? Can Raceland be effective passing in the rain with a slick ball? Will Ashland's speed be negated on a slippery field?

Ashland is going to be a force to be reckoned with this year. Greenup County is heading in the right direction- as long the fans and players don't give up their preseason enthusiasm they will build themselves into a winning program in time. There are going to be bumps along the way but the journey makes the destination that much more enjoyable once you get there. This has been Deep Thoughts with Red Rambler. :lol:

Congrats to the Devils on an opening week win. Heard some of it on the radio sounded Russell turned the ball over a few times but Russell's defense played very well and bailed the offense out. Either way a win is a win.

I like Greenup's attitude for sure it's just going to take some time to get things turned around. I predict Greenup keeps it close early but the Tomcats pull away in the second half. Still the Muskies will take a lot of positives out of the game. Ashland 35 Greenup 10

Congrats to Coach McGlone on this honor- it is certainly deserved.

Playoffs- Personally I would rather have a district championship between the Top 2 teams in the district and have classes broken into 16 regions (with 4 districts per region) like basketball across all classes. So all the district champs would play each other in Regional playoffs and then the 16 regional champions would advance to the state playoffs in each class. This gives you 7 weeks of playoffs. Classes-I think we should trim down to five classes- six is too many and four wasn't enough IMO. Scheduling- I also think the season should start the first Friday in August whether school on are in session or not. People will come. Doesn't matter if school is in or not. Every team should play 10 straight weeks. By this year's calendar that makes Week 10 October 9th. Then the teams would get one bye week before the playoffs and the District Championships would be on October 23rd. Two weeks for Regional playoffs (4 districts per region) and 4 weeks for State playoffs makes the State title game on first weekend of December and weather-wise far more accessible to more fans. I am admittedly not as well versed in this stuff than 90% of you so my plan is likely highly impossible, but I really think as a lay fan the whole cross districting and what not in the early rounds is completely ridiculous and makes no sense to me. Anyway just my two cents.

If the worse thing that happens to those kids in life is that they lost a football game in the play-offs then they would have a mighty good life! :thumb: I know it's tough sometimes, as a kid, to have that perspective but it's the truth. They played their rear ends off and have nothing to hang their heads about.
