Fleming County opened their season tonight with a big win over Nicholas County, and look to be improved over last year's 1-9 campaign. Raceland comes into Flemingsburg at 1-1. Thoughts?

With Mason County off, I may have to make the trip over to Fle'burg.

Wow. Raceland opens the season with 3 straight away games. I don't know a thing about Fleming County this year other than they are in Russell's district again. They used to be able to field a decent team every once in a while and judging from their week 1 result, Raceland better not take them lightly.

The Panthers spread offense has been replaced this year with a wishbone/option attack. Last night against Nicholas, Fleming attempted one pass the whole game.

:laugh: I don't think that will be a problem. Those triple option teams don't pass to much.

Fleming County runs a similar offense to what Boyd County runs. That would sound bad for Raceland, but with Cody Kelley and Jeremy Barr back for this game, and did not play against Boyd County, I would expect Raceland to defend it a little better. Plus, seeing it against Boyd County already this year should help in the preparation.

I think Raceland will bounce back this week @ Fleming. This should be a good match up.

Fleming has a solid group back @ this game will be a good measure of where they are.

We will see what the Rams are made of this week. Having lost a regular season game for the first time in almost 2 calendar years, will they fold up or come out smoking? After seeing how we responded to the Grid-o-rama debacle, I think we will enter Flemingsburg with a renewed vigor. Just remember, we gave Ashland 18 points on special teams and interception field position. We held a potent Ashland offense to around 200 yards. We just have to get our offense on track. Ram Nation, don't jump from any bridges just yet...........

Fleming County passed once in its opener at Nicholas County. Clark is a breakaway threat for the Panthers. The same Clark that was a state champion in the hurdles last spring?

Not that there would be anything wrong with that...but I agree, so I gave the Rams my vote.

Unless they consider an option pitch a pass. :lol: Who knows, the option atrack may have been a smoke screen to what they plan for us. :idunno:

 

All I know is that Raceland had better show up to play or we will go home with 2 consecutive losses....................Rams, "fear no one, respect all". Raceland is geting close to full strength, we haven't been close to that all year. Hopefully our walking M.A.S.H. unit is "maybe" coming to an end and we will have the full stength Raceland team for the first time this season.
