Actually I was simply poking fun at your insistance on posting it. Considering that the Rams are a fortuitous fumble late in the 4th qtr at Boyd from being 0-2, there's ton's of room for improvement. But this lunch pail, TCB act hasn't really perfused down from these hallowed pages to the grass behind the high school.

If it is that irritating to you, don't read it. The players love it and the coaches say it and the fans make signs with it. Now, that being said, you are not really thinking that posting on these threads actually somehow seeps into our players by some cyber-osmotic action are you? These are for us fans to have some fun and cheer for our teams and poke fun at our friends from other schools. I think that the boys are immpermeable to our jargon. JMO, but if you have some literature from a reliable medical journal, I'd be happy to read up on how BGP posting can actually cause players to play to their potential.:thumb:

^ Nice.

Hard to even skip over when you post it in huge letters. And no it doesn't bother me. And I've read the post over and over and over trying to decipher it, and I'm sure there's some logic in there, but I simply couldn't find it. If you can't read my post and tell that I think that all the fluff posted on this site and in this forum blew some false sense of security to this group, well I obviously wasn't clear enough. This group has holes. With the expeption of Ram, most on here were touting this group as the next coming. I just think it's funny how you lose the talent that graduated and yet set the bar so high that it's unattainable. I hope that the players that are returning healthy are going to boost spirits and on field performance, yet if it doesn't there will be the absence of some on here with lame explanations why. I wish good luck to this bunch against Fleming, because I guarantee that Fleming is looking at this bunch and saying that it's not the same Raceland team as years past, of course, that is unless they have read the 45 thousand pages leading up to the season. If that's the case, they are scared to death.:scared:

I am not sure why you are on the attack against any one of us that support the Rams. I believe you need to read all the threads and posts again because, although there may be some "fluff" as you say, but we ( Raceland supporters on BGP's, including Ram) are and continue to be excited about the depth at the skill positions and I still believe in our OL/DL. No team is without holes. I believe that last year's team had holes just as this year's team has holes. I do not believe that we have anymore expectation on this team than does the coaching staff. If you do not believe that, read what Coach Maynard stated in The Independent's football tabloid. He said they expect to be where we were last year (Regional Championship game).

As for lame excuses, you are assuming failure. Besides, IF we do not succeed, there will be no excuses from me nor do I believe any other Ram supporter on here.

:thumb::thumb: No room for ecusses.....Excuses = reason to lose, looking for someone to blame.

I for one am proud that our (Raceland) fan base has remained positive. I would only hope that it stays that way. All imo bringing a complaint about anything to do with the team, coaches decisions or what have you imo is best when taken by the person with the question/complaint to the source directly. I feel sure that if approached in a proper manner, a coach or whoever a complaint is with would be addressed by that person when and if approached in a proper manner. I use this board to have fun, support my team, favorite schools and coaches and high school sports in general. When I think my team plays bad, I will say it. What I don't do is call out a high school kid/kids individually or put him/her down. A "Team" is just that, you win as a team and you lose as a team. No room for "me's".

I don't think a public forum is the place to bring out complaints/problems with certain individuals or kids. Especially when you ar dealing with high school kids. Seems to me that the kids sometimes handle things better. JMO

Let the players play, the coaches coach and support all. Should someone want to be miserable then that is their choice. I just don't think they will get much milage out of it. I know I am not listening to it. :thumb:

Nice post, OR. Everyone should support the their team and stop the whinning.

Well, I don't about anyone else, but I hope the Rams are in full preparation mode for Fleming County, I know Fleming County is getting ready for Raceland to come to town.

Last week, is last week. Time to look to the future, and the ultimate goal of winning as many games as possible, finishing as high as possible in the district, and winning as many playoff games as possible. Anyone that is not focused on that, well, they aren't very team oriented.

Keep your eyes on the prize, and you will always be headed in the right direction.

This statement has me wondering something... Should the ultimate goal in high school sports, be winning? Is it wrong for a kid to join a HS team with the mind set; "I just want to play a game, see how I like it, have fun, a chance to hang out with the fella's, etc..." I think kids are motivated to play for many other reasons which may not include winning...(I for one have a competitive side as deep as the Atlantic, and unfortunately my son inherited that trait as well, you challenge me to cow patty throwing contest, buddy, I'm training Rocky Balboa style to whoop ya)

Say a kid goes out for a team just to do it, does not care about winning, has no aspirations of playing college ball, just wants to play cause orange looks good on him/her should they be chastised by the coaches or community?

There are many opinions, but mine is, if you're not there to make the team better, and to play to win, then you shouldn't be there.

You play to win, that is why they keep score. People often misquote Vince Lombardi by saying, "Winning isn't everything", the actual quote is, "Winning isn't everything, it's the only thing". And if you are not out there to make the team better and to win, then I have to ask, why would you be there?

Good post Ram, lets get back to talking about this game and get away from all the "nit picking". Who are some of Fleming's better players/strengths? I know "0" about them.

As for the bolded, I agree 100%. "No one goes foward by looking in the rear view mirror".

:thumb::thumb: Very well stated. Again.....key word is "Team".

I don't know names, but they are said to have a very good backfield, two strong RB's. They run the triple option, so I am sure we see plenty of both of them. I understand they have a very good receiver, but they don't throw the ball much. I would say we are looking at a team very similar to Boyd County. I hear they are pretty athletic. Should be a good test for the Rebounding Rams.
