The low back problem began after BHS lit him up for 5 runs. Your'e right about the arm, he did not have the same velocity he had earlier in the yr.

If you saw these numbers, I guess we can not doubt it. However, it sure did not seem that way. Roenker did not seem to have any zip on the ball today as he did when he beat BHS. Elliott definetly seemed to have his normal velocity. Have a day Cody, gets the shutout, no hitter(10-K's w/6-BB), goes 3-4 w/2 triples and 4 RBI's. Not sure about this but maybe that was his first win of the yr if you can believe that. BHS looked OK today but they will have to play better defensively from here out. W/Elliott pitching they can afford an error or two sometimes but not on routine plays.

According to BHS's coach, CCH/Holmes at NKU 5pm, BHS/HC at TMC 4:30pm.

Unfortunately, a senior, who can lift a lot of weight, will not make that much difference.

BHS/HC on Tues and CCH/Holmes on Wed, both games at 4pm. No word on Thurs Championship time yet. Depends on any graduations going on at TM. Maybe the game will be moved to Dixie under the lights, that would be nice.

Didn't read each post but the first few were enough. Sounds like a lot of woulda shoulda coulda's mixed in w/a lot of excuses on the CCH side. Kids being suspended, erroros and not hitting is reality in H.S. baseball and very much part of the game. Any team that doesn't hit, makes numerous errors and is missing a key player always has the possibility of losing no matter who they are playing. Eat the lose and get ready for the next game. Obviously, it means nothing!! Maybe Ryle was just a little more focused than CCH on this day.

Most fundamentally sound player Beechwood has. IMO, his best position is 3rd. He is a good pitcher because he throws strikes, very smart baseball player. He is what I would call "baseball smart." I know he did not get this from his dad, must be from his mama.:laugh:

I would have to guess that everyone hopes all of HC's IF's come true except the Beechwood fans. Who would want to play Beechwood in the region the first game, nobody.

Sounds like a lot of IF's needed for HC to win. The game is now at 4pm as well as Wed's Championship game, weather permitting.

Update on times: Mon game is at 5pm, Tues/Wed are now scheduled at 4pm due to commencments being held at TM, weather permitting! Elliott will throw against HC! You must win the first one before you play the second one.

You seem to know more about this than the coaches do. I was told they could have moved up but decided to stay in Class A.

Beechwood's district gets better and better every yr. Last yr they add Brossart and now WV gets added. I bet they wish they moved up to 2A last yr when they had the chance. W/the multi-million dollar complex's they are getting ready to build it reminds me of an old saying, "if you build it, they will come!" They will be ready to play 6A in a few yrs.

Absolutely correct! However, due to fantastic weather in the NKY area, the Holmes/Beechwood game was rained out on Friday, therefore, there was an exception. The state was made aware of this thanks to the head of the umpires in the 9th region. I didn't know this was part of his job or is it just because he loves Beechwood so much?:sssh:

Well, w/a Beechwood win today against Holmes (11-1 in 5) the brackets are set. May 19, CovCath will play Holmes at 5pm May 20th, Beechwood will play HC at 4:30pm May 21st, Championship at 4:30pm All games, as of right now will be played at Thomas More. If weather messes things up, games could be played at Dixie. I will take Beechwood to beat CCH in the finals. They are playing well, good pitching/fielding and finally hitting the ball. Hopefully they will take a 100 level course on baserunning before next weeks tournament. See the trainer, as he was one heck of a baserunner in the day according to his best friend. :laugh:

This guy hates Beechwood!! Just because he dislikes the coach he shouldn't take it out on the kids and schedule poor umps to do their games. One thing is for sure, if he worried more about getting good umps instead of calling the state on Beechwood, things might be better in the 9th region.

Protecting a kids arm is what it is all about and the pitch count is most important not the number of innings pitched. The pitch count idea is excellent but how would it truely be enforced. I know the so-called better programs in NKY keep track of their pitch count and actually pull pitchers when the number gets to a certain spot depending on the time of season. Great idea, now how to enforce it.

Holly did a fantastic job for the hand she was dealt especially this past season after losing her best player that would have been coming back for the next two yrs. Having two small children to raise had to be hard especially all the time she had to spend in the gym. Good luck!

Heard this was a very good possibility. Also heard she has a niece in the 5th grade that is a phenom already. Why would this be? Wouldn't going to Holmes be a jump up?
