They need to get some decent facilities there...what?...oh, they did?....nevermind!

Will someone please tell the coach that early conditioning wont hurt the fellas! I have watched them intently, and year in and year out they dont seem to be in shape untill mid October. Prime example, there is no way that Beechwood should have won that first game! The entire defense had thier tounges dragging the ground at the end of the first half. The Tigers pounced, the forsight of Coach Rash, to have his boys in mid season shape from the get go payed off.

I seem to agree here, although I know my son worked out extremely hard on his own very early last season and it did pay off. Even though the offense will only have one starter from last year (Lubrano-lineman), I'm concerned with the defense which let the Colonels down a few times more than just the Beechie game last year. If two "biggins" that played and quit last year just happen to straighten things out and come out, that would help the defensive line quite a bit.

Brock and Haggarty, before his season ending injury, both started for the team last year. Their defense will be pretty good this year with Gotsey and Raliegh

Yes, they all started most of the time last year. I still maintain that defense could have been a lot better. They were rather young for the most part and gave up a lot of yardage. Hopefully, with the experience some got last year the defense will be much improved.

If Brock continues to bite on the double move, he won't see the defensive side of the field all year. They're going to need a lot of new faces step up this year. There are also a few guys that have hopefully gotten their act together as they could help this team out tremendously.

What's the prediction for the offense since their quarterback, kicker and so many others are graduating in 2 weeks?

Ryan Wilson led the (juniors to be) to a one loss season as a freshman. He has outstanding arm strength to throw the ball but needs a lot of repitition since he was injured most of the season last year as a sophmore to improve upon his accuracy. If they can go to the (i) formation set with Brock at tailback and install a freeze option it would be extremely hard to defend based on both players speed and athletic ability. Plus the fullback would be keyed upon a lot less therefore finding good yardage up the middle. Hopefully Spritzky will keep a fullback in front of Brock most of the time and get away from the one back set.

He has always ran better with a fullback in front of him.

Remember offensively establish the run and defensively stop the run and good things will happen

Is Tristian Luke still playing ?

If I'm not mistaken, he quit towards the end of the season last year.

Not if Spritzky continues to fall in love with that spread offense. The play calling wasn't the quickest. Lots of momentum was killed on decent offensive drives because of a timeouts being called for not getting the play in quickly. The Colonels did much better running the ball with the linemen down instead of standing up. The unbalanced line formation worked pretty well. However when it was decided to put Benson at fullback, he was hardly used.

I agree. Spritzky got spoiled with the spread during the years of Unkraut, O'Toole, and Preston. Not just because they were solid quarterbacks, but they each had multiple receivers to work with. The past couple years, no-one stepped up outside of Detmer, thus causing Spritzky lots of confusion/frustration with his play calling. He didn't adjust very well to his players until late in the season. He needs to look at what works best for his players and adjust the offense now, not halfway through the season.

I agree, run a offense that best fits your players ability

Install the freeze option and the fullback will get a ton of yardage when everyone will keying on Brock and Wilson
