What was there spring practice like? How many?

Yes Biggie quit last season. It's a shame if he doesn't play, he really is a great player and would help Dixie get back to playing the way they used to.

Great player? He's got huge potential but he needs to work within the framework of TEAM. One can have all the potential in the world but if you're not willing to work hard, show up for practice, stay out of trouble, you'll be sitting your "potential" on the bench. There were times when he was very good on defense and times when he seemed lackluster. He could be a fine player and leader on that defense, but only if he wants it.

The name rings a bell. However, from everything I've heard, this will be Wilson's year to lead the team. I've heard nothing but great things about him from an athletic standpoint. Can he effectively run Spritzky's spread offense? I have no clue. Spritzky might have to adapt to his athleticism as mentioned above.

I thought you were talking about Fightmaster. He was the starting JV QB until he was injured. Wilson took over and did a pretty good job. Fightmaster lost his starting QB spot then quit the team. Bohn did not go out for football this past season.

 

Also heard Fightmaster transfered to Ryle.

I seem to agree here, although I know my son worked out extremely hard on his own very early last season and it did pay off. Even though the offense will only have one starter from last year (Lubrano-lineman), I'm concerned with the defense which let the Colonels down a few times more than just the Beechie game last year. If two "biggins" that played and quit last year just happen to straighten things out and come out, that would help the defensive line quite a bit.[/QUOTE]

 

It's been my experience to never rely on a kid who has quit before. You sure don't want to put your apples into a cart that stopped halfway to market last year.

I agree with you Sandman, wholeheartedly. However, there were so many that didn't "finish" the season last year. And you know there are always those kids who for one reason or another, don't play one year and pick it up the next. I'm just saying that if those two guys, and you know who they are, got serious about football it would help. That being said, I hope like heck our Colonels won't have to worry about it. Like my son told me last year, he'd rather play with the guys that were there every day giving 100% in practice and on Friday nights, win or lose.

Unfortunately, a senior, who can lift a lot of weight, will not make that much difference.
