Cov Cath now has to play Beechwood which will of course be a much closer game!

CovCath 12 Cov Holmes 1, or it pays to be the #1 Seed.

 

It went pretty much as you would except, but Holmes did put a scare into CovCath in the first inning. Sophomore Matt Klein started and got the first Holmes batter Jensen to hit into a 6-3 for the first out. Then Holmes next batter Wells walks on a 3-2 pitch. Runner on first one out. Holmes #3 batter Riley hits a shot between the CovCath Left and Center Fielders and Wells takes off running, Nutini retrieve the ball and the Holmes runner is rounding third and heading for home trying to get the lead, however Nutini throws a strike to Holocher and Holocher throw a strike to Maile at the plate and the runner is out. Two outs and now a runner on second. The #4 batter for Holmes Covteny hits a single but the Holmes coach holds that runner at third and finally the #5 Holmes batter flies out to Right. If, and this is a big if, the Holmes Coach holds the runner at third Holmes just might be leading CovCath after the top of the first by a score of 2-0...

 

CovCath good: CovCath had 12 hits and only left 5 men on base. Also CovCath didn't have to throw Ilser, Nutini, or Niehaus in this game, so that mean everybody is available for the Beechwood game.
