Not exactly given away. Each school's A.D. fills out a list that is sent to the state w/$25/coach listed and usually 2/3 medical cards. It depends on who the A.D. puts on this list and there is a cut off for the number allowed. It states on these cards that they are good for every high school sporting event w/the exception of special tournaments ie: districts/regionals/state and yrly fund raising tournaments. It is left up to each district/region to decide who are the freebee's. That is why basketball went w/each team having a pass list. In football, they let everybody who has a coaches pass in for free, unless you are at HHS and they don't even take them during the reg season. I guess they need the money?

Tall order to beat the #8 team in the state but I saw some crazy baseball this yr.

When is the last time NCC won the region? Who will they get next out of the 11 reg?

Exactly, first time in 20 yrs. Normally, if your team reaches the regionals, they are allowed in the rest of the tournament regardless if you are still playing or not. CCH's CF should have had two errors scored against him. He basically missed two balls hit right at him. There is no way they are hits. The official scorer was being generous. I would bet that both teams score books scored them as EEEEEE's. Also, why was he so shallow w/Kelly up? He obviously got burned because of that. And, the NCC LF was playing on the warning track w/CCH's #2 hitter up who hasn't pulled a ball in 10 yrs. Don't these coaches scout the other teams anymore.

Wrong:creepy: If you have a coaching pass or a NKAC pass, you are let in for no cost unless you are attending the game at Highlands. In basketball, if you make regionals, the pass list is good for any and all regional games whether you win or lose. I am sure this was a Florence Freedom thing to make money.

Question: why did they charge team players/staff that made the region to get into the game? This is not done in the other sports why baseball? I probably can guess but does anyone know.

As I pointed out before, Hadden replaced Elliott in the 6th so when the #1 spot came to bat in the 7th, Elliott came back in to hit which took Hadden out of the game. #1/#2/#3 who is to say. If you look at wins, Elliott is not #1. At the beginning of the season, of course, Elliott is the #1 pitcher BHS has. IMO, still a great choice of who pitched. Snyder was winning when he came out of the game. I agree w/everyone, you have to win the first game to play the second you still must look ahead to give your team a chance. The only way BHS beats CCH is w/Elliott pitching. The rest of the staff I felt was good enough to win the first two rounds to get to the finals but obviously I was wrong as was Coach Myeroff and his staff.

Not taking anything away from Ms Sears as I am sure she is a great softball player but w/Allen's accomplishments over the last 4 yrs, she is my top player and will get my vote. Not only been a dominating pitcher during her Sr yr but dominated for the last 3 yrs. I agree, where they choose to play in college should have nothing to do w/the vote but it will. Ms Sears has chosen to play close to home but did she have D1 offers and really want to stay close to home. As someone said, Allen will be playing for a National Championship yr in and yr out at Oklahoma. She could have played anywhere in this state, wait, anywhere in the country. She is one of the top players in the country. Allen, Ms Softball, no brainer, IMO. As for NKY not being very good, I disagree w/that comment all together. Is the N Laurel area any better? I don't know just asking.

Bad official scorer. I was almost sitting on top of the third base coach and he was clearly holding Lokesak at third. Oh well, as you said, judgement call which is fine but I did not score it the same way.

Anyone who watched this game and knows anything if only a little, knows that the first 3 pitchers threw well enough to win the game BUT.... Coop, back to the so-called official scoring. Answer me this, where does it say that w/a runner on 2nd and a base hit that it is an automatic earned run? Like I said, if Elliott fields the ball clean, the coach is holding Lokesak all the way. Cody was not that deep and Wilhoit was holding Lokesak until he seen him miss the ball. I will not argue this any more but I would like to know where this rule is that says he automatically scores from 2nd on a base hit.

First of all, there is no rule that says w/a runner on 2nd and a base hit, that the runner automatically scores, this can not be assumed either. So, the error did allow 2 runs to score as the runner would have been held up at third w/Elliott's arm. As for his catch in CF, no one else on BHS team would have come close to making the catch. Those are routine for Cody. As for the mud on his back, ask him, he tripped on his shoe strings. If he doesn't trip only one runner scores and the other is stranded on third as the next batter made the third out. As I said earlier, the game is over, Boone won, congrats. If BHS does what they are capable of doing and Boone does the same, BHS wins this game. However, as Coop sd, flawless games in baseball are hard to come by especially w/H.S. players.

Exactly, sorry I wasn't more precise w/my comments, no H.S. experience!! HJ, getting scary.:thumb: I have to agree w/you. Not much effort in this search for a new coach. I am sure Andy will do great and I wish him all the luck in the world. He is a great guy w/a great wife and family.

This error cost two runs. Lokesak hadn't reached 3rd base when Cody would have been coming up w/the ball and he wasn't deep. Not so sure the coach would have sent him anyway but none the less, 2 runs scored on this error. Another extra run scored when he tripped over his shoe strings on the long fly CF. Only one run should have scored then because the next batter made the third out. This was not an error but a mistake. When Snyder fielded the ball from Cotton w/runners on 1st/3rd, he should have went home w/that. He went to 2nd, thinking double play, no way to double Cotton on this ball, another mental error. Not getting Lokesak in the pickle, another mental error and another run. Biggest problem was walking Lokesak 3 times, he scored all three times. Same as the CCH district final game, CCH had 7 walks and 5 of those runners scored, Maile 4 times, scored 3. Pickett getting picked off cost BHS a run, next batter doubled, then Elloitt tripled. Again, for anyone to say Myeroff made the mistake of not throwing Elliott, I will disagree. As someone else said, he can't play for them. BHS was in a great position to win the game but they didn't. Game over, great season over, great 4 yrs for the BHS Sr's. They won an All State Championship and were runner's up in the state. Not many H.S. baseball players can ever say that.:thumb:

Not sure about this, but I think Elliott only won 1 game this yr?? I am sure he had several saves but only the no hitter for his only win. Anyone know this for sure?

Elliott was taken out in the 6th and replaced by Hadden. The DH went to CF. Elliott then hit in the 7th for Hadden which makes him done.

Your'e right but the coach can only put them on the field to play but he can't play for them. IMO, I give the credit to the kids and also blame the kids.

Good thing he has alot of his mother's gene's.:laugh: The Bankemper's were very athletic.

Nothing against Coach Elkus but how does a school the size of Dixie hire a head V coach w/no V experience? or Is this one of those must hires due to teaching in the system?

IMO, nothing backfired. Snyder/Smith and Hadden pitched well enough to win w/out Elliott throwing. They made to many costly errors as did Boone. However, BHS's errors cost them about 5 runs and Boone's only a couple.
