Quite the opposite. There is no five yard rule in high school. A defensive player can Only hit the offensive player initially off the football, and only while the offensive player appears to be in a blocking motion. You can't initiate contact anywhere down the field. The only contact allowed down the field is incidental.

The AAAA state championship was between Boone and Shelby county that year.

I hope that Frankfort doesn't keep their starters in longer than the first quarter. That should be a 5-6 touchdown spot.

I agree. There becomes a point where not fulfilling your responsibility becomes absolutually ridiculous.

Wow, I had already corrected that mistake, having confused Randy with the previous Bellevue coach. I don't however believe for a second that Eckstein was outcoached. Many Bellevue fans would like to give that scenario rather than to admit that Ludlow may have simply had more talent than Bellevue.

I am an idiot. I was thinking of Grey. Borchers is a heck of a coach. However, Dave is also a very proven coach. SORRY coach Borchers.

Dave Eckstein has brought sucess to EVERY program he has commanded. Can you say the same about Borchers? I DON'T think so. Compare carreer records. Also, look at the teams that each have beaten as a head coach. It is not comparable. If Borchers was still the head coach at Bellvue, the program would be in the basement.

Perhaps they are simply not as talented as years past.

Sorry everyone, but Beechwood is head and shoulders above every one else in their district. I think Ludlow and Dayton will however be a battle.

I would agree. If a team is getting rolled that bad and continues to throw the ball, they have asked for it.

That was poorly written. I was just talking about earlier in the page when a comment was made that maybe the next time someone says we are a basketball state, they should look at how many scholarship athletes we have playing football vs. basketball. The lord knows that I would like the kids at my school to take a closer at that stat.:thumb:

I have heard the same statement from Dale Mueller before. I am not saying that Trimble has done it or will do it, but I have never seen a game where you could not keep from scoring 70, especially with a running clock rule. If someone has done it to you before, you should especially know better than to do it when you have the opportunity. The argument stated above should not apply to high school kids, college kids maybe.

Do you really think that a clean hit on someone standing around can be compared to a facemask? It is off thread topic, but this is a political correct rule, not a rule that makes kids safer. What will the next rule be, no hitting?

YES. That has been part of football since the begining of the sport. It only has changed at the high school level since around 02. Haven't you ever heard the phrase don't get caught standing around on the football field? Also, geting decleated by a clean hit is not being taken out. Being taken out indicates a classless, low level cut or high low in my vocabulary.
