Thoughts?

Huge games for both teams, but a MUST WIN for Ludlow after a tough loss to Bellevue this week. I know the main reason why Ludlow lost to Bellevue was just because of mistakes that Ludlow had on their own. However I dont expect them to do that two weeks in a row (knock on wood). I know I expect about the same kind of game as we just saw between Ludlow and Bellevue. And that is Ludlows strength which is offense, going against Daytons strength which is defense...However Ludlow was able to move the ball very good this week against Bellevue, and I fully expect them to be able to do that this week against Dayton as well, but without the mistakes...

If at Ludlow then I expect a tight game with Ludlow coming out on top 23-13.

 

If at Dayton I still think Ludlow comes out a winner but only 14-8.

It is at Dayton. As long as Ludlow dont kill themselves with stupid mistakes like they did this past game, then they should be fine IMO...

If Dayton can rebound from their loss against Beechwood, and I think that is a huge IF because of the domination, then I think Dayton will win at home. If they come out still thinking about last week then Ludlow has every chance to beat them.

 

Because it is at home the Dayton crowd should provide some backing, and sometimes the best thing about getting blown out is you get to play another game the next week.

And our also coming off a tough loss where they know they just killed themselves, and would be looking to revenge that this week, and come out and play their best and not shoot themselves in the foot...

Many people said, Dayton could play with Beechwood, and they COULD HAVE if they played like they could... they came out flat, came alive for about 6 minutes, and then decided to pretty much pack it up after the second quarter... they are not all of a sudden a bad team because of one week...

How are they (Ludlow) playing for their season? Ludlow is going to make the playoffs even if they lose to Dayton. And avoiding Beechwood in Round 1 just means getting them in Round 2.

No one has said they are a bad team now. If you think about it, most of the realistic people knew Beechwood would win that game. I think the reason why people are starting to pick Ludlow now, is because now people actually got to see Ludlow play a game since they have been on far road games their first two games and never saw them and now realize Ludlow has a really good team as well even though they lost yesterday...

However if could get the 2 or 3 seed, you get to be in the playoffs. Get a chance to go against one of your big rivals again, and a chance to win a playoff game. Yeah the season would probably end in the 2nd round once get Beechwood then, but still would feel alot better about the season and having a playoff win, than not at all...

Come on you just being hard headed here and difficult here, because you know exactly what I mean. No disrespect to Brossart but this being their first Varsity season, we all knew pretty much Ludlow, Bellevue and Dayton would be in the playoffs. That is almost guarnteed going into this year. So pretty much who ever gets the 4 seed, knows that is not to much of an accomplishment this year, and then having to play Beechwood in 1st round who is the best in the state is knowing your season is over. Yeah the players will play as hard as they can, but I just being realistic. This week no matter what you say is their season. And as I said Bellevue and Dayton would think the same way in this position. I guarntee that if Ludlow wins this week, that Dayton will be thinking the same thing when they play Bellevue that their season is on the line, because they wouldnt want the 4 seed.

 

I mean who ever gets the 2 and 3 seed this year is going to be excited to be in the playoffs, and even more excited going into the game knowing they have a realistic chance to win and move on in the playoffs. Beechwood would not even be a thought at time. The teams could worry about that in the 2nd round. For the 4 seed though, they know they already have Beechwood and dont have much to look forward to..Who do you think will be more excited in the playoffs for their game the 2 and 3 seed playing each, or the team who is the 4th seed playing Beechwood?? Ludlow IS playing for their season this week!!!

Dayton will regroup and be ready and will beat Ludlow 24-21.
