I love the University of Mercer. Instead of MCHS it is UM now. Why not? Might as well make the best of it. Well Mercer thumped them by a very similar score last year before they were a University. Mercer pulled the starters at halftime. The four interceptions and the punt return for a Td had a little to do with the 68 points.

That's unreal! There are some great backs in the state this year. But there are some great lines out their blocking for them too.

Danville is the team to beat. Don't judge their ablility by a bad game. Everybody is due a stinker. They won the game so there really isn't nothin else to say about that.

Mercer 35 North Oldham 0 with 5 minutes to go in the 2nd qtr. Corey Jackson of Mercer just passed 1,000 yards rushing on the season on the last series. The very next series Brandon Ford of Mercer passed 1,000 yards rushing on the season. I wonder how many yards these two will rush for before this season is over with?

Mercer will be in the mix somwhere I'm sure. With the merger and the coaching staff you are looking at a carbon copy of Danville with more numbers. Why do I say this? A big portion of their coaching staff have been affiliated with the Admirals. Coach Jaggers spent several years on Harp's staff and we run the same offense for the most part. The athletes,coaching, and facilities are there. They will compete at a high level.

I hope we do make it to the finals. But, I know we will have a tough 2nd round rematch with Newport most likely and then a possible 3rd round matchup with Lou Western. There is a possibility of them both being unbeaten. We only have a month till the playoffs are here.

I say that cause Mercer could get knocked out. They would have to make it to the finals to face Russell or Belfry.

You can win without a great passing game. But you have to be able to run the ball. That article was total BS!

What are you crying about? Danville is a 1A school with 1A numbers. How do you evaluate classes? I think it's a 5 team race with the ADS,Holy Cross,Beechwood,Bardstown, and Mayfield. I'm not sold on NCC.

Jason is startiing his 11th season in the NFL. How many guys not only make it but last that long in the league? He is a specimen.

It's going to be wild to see French (former Mercer coach) and Jaggers (former Lincoln coach) go at it.

I guess he didn't notice the JV subbing in during the 2nd qtr. Mercer does have a passing game. If Morgan is not getting it done in a situation where we have to pass then they have more qb's. Freeman Edwards is a tall Qb who has been spending his time on defense. Then you have Trevor Short who is a serious threat. This guy definitely doesnt know what he is talking about. Casey might have been in the Mercer backfield a couple of times. But when you score 66 points and the game is called due to bad weather I don't see where his theory has any ground to stand on. I had a buddy from Casey co who told me of this article and he just laughed as well. It's more of a lack of respect more then anything.

Mercer is going to lose over 20 seniors after this season. They have a very special sophomore class who will do special things. But, next year will be a big step up in competition. Mercer will have a new Qb next year that's going to open some eyes. He is young and very raw right now. But make no mistake, this kid is a player. He has the arm and he has the wheels. They are playing alot of young kids right now as well. I haven't seen the non district schedule yet. They will have a tough adjustment early on but the future is VERY bright at Mercer. It's hard to say where they will fall as far as top teams. It's way too early for that but, I wouldn't put them in the top 5 at the beginning of the season.

It's hard to argue with that. I don't know too many teams with that many seniors. That's scary.

I think that's a similar problem that alot of AA teams face. I know Russell wont be in any worse situation then Mercer as far as district competition. Most have said that we won the district title unofficially last friday. That's not good. Russell seemed to do fine last year.
