I think SW has issues of their own right now. They got thumped by a so so South Laurel. Boyle's losses aren't as unexpected with the youth they have played and the fact having no games at home. I foresee the 1st home game after a tough start with Boyle opening up a huge can. I'm glad we played Boyle when we did.

Boyle Co will sweep their district and make a great run in the playoffs.

That would really be fair. NOT! That would make the six classes pointless I believe.

Kids or no kids. Nobody would be screaming in my face. That's just one of many isolated events that happen. I saw that group when they first got there. My first opinion was that the guy in the boxer shorts should be playing on the field instead of lookin like a big dummy. He was a good sized kid. I guess he was a student.

8 starters on defense are from 2005 Mercer and on offense it's about 50/50 with Mercer losing their entire offensive line from last year.

Yeah, they needed to. It sure wasn't one sided. I think it just got started on the wrong foot with that punt return. It definitely wasn't just one sided.

I saw those students you were talking about. It was a small group. The crowd was overwhelming. Don't take it that those few kids represented the entire student body or administration. I saw no problems anywhere else. I agree the guy in the boxer shorts should have been told to leave. It isn't about Mercer acting like they've been there before it's about those few kids acting like it. I think the team is playing LIKE they are suppose to be at that level.

This seems to be a much more dangerous Danville team this year. They can put the ball in the air that's for sure. Macon is definitely a WEAPON! How good is his little bro? I heard he had some wheels.

Classless. That sums your post up. And to anyone else who seems to think this was all planned for football. If that's the case then they would have done it a long time ago when the talent was even greater. Mercer would have had a state title contender this year just like they had last year with or without the merge. They returned alot from the 10-2 team from last season. Mercer County is a respected school system. They are working their butts off to make sure all these kids from k-12 get to and from school and recieve everything they need to get a proper education. And after all their efforts people want to assume that all of this is because of football. Below the belt. This will be a farewell tour for alot of AA schools. Either way it will be fun come playoff time. Bash on Mercer then.

Gotta give Leonard Macon some love. 6'5" 210 lbs WR for the Danville Admirals. This kid is a sophomore and already has been offered by UK. I've seen him play once but that was enough to know that he is the real deal.

His speed is eye catching as well. He is definitely a player with tons of potential.

That's for sure. From district play to the playoffs 5A will be much tougher. If the kids keep coming out and I know Coach Jaggers is involved with the younger kids then I see them having no problem competing in 5A.

Yeah, I knew I had seen Lewis and Edwards at tight end. And I have seen Ford and Jackson on defense.

I was standing in perfect view. He pulled or more of a jerked him down by his jersey. The ref was behind and from his point of view I know it probably looked like it was a face mask with the way his head snapped back. But he shouldn't have thrown the flag without seeing the face mask grabbed. Those things happen. But it did happen on 4th and 10 and Boyle scored on the very next play.

My bad. Has this been the case all year? I didn't know he started on both sides of the ball.

So Mercer wouldn't play Belfry or Russell til the Finals if Mercer makes it to Louisville?

That would be a way to make everybody happy. I wish I really had all the answers. While some question all of this we have watched a really ugly (the merge) and tearful event transform into a possible blessing in disguise. From a town that was always split to a community that is coming together due to this team. It was always tough when they played cause in years past it wasn't always a pleasant rivalry. But now they are one. If you were from the area and were at the game friday against Boyle you would have seen the atmosphere. Electricifying. 7,000 give or take at the game. So as the numbers don't lie and I agree in a numbers game we are at an advantage no doubt. But no matter what the numbers in sports you have to go out and compete. That's easy to argue I know. I guess this is kinda like the unfair numbers with private schools except this is for only one year. Whatever happens with this team whether they win it all or get bounced early out of the playoffs I believe it will be the best thing to happen to these kids. They aren't running the score up against outmatched opponents. And they wont back down from the powerhouse teams if they run into them later on. This thread has no future for me. But, I understand everyone's concern. Good luck to all the teams the rest of the way.

Yeah my thoughts exactly on the confusion part. I think he is talking about Mercer finally having a competitive team. They had one last year. But, this isn't the scotties. This isn't the Mercer team of past. This is a whole new student body. They are not the scotties they are the TITANS!

Why else would you assume that this was done in a rush? Nothing in life seems to be fair. Like I said earlier they were preparing to start the construction of the new school. And yes they recieved more money for the added enrollment for a one phase construction. They go to two seperate schools now due to the fact that Mercer High is already crowded.
