I will be alot of fun to see how the coaching staffs adjust to each other early on. Will Newport have a big crowd?

What happended to that saying without blocking you can't run the ball? They both still rushed for a 1,000 yards each and are going to eclipse 1500 each this year. One might even crack 2000. Who knows?

I don't have an ego. It seems to me that no matter what the Titans accomplish this year they well get blasted for it by some. The merger thing is a sore subject. But you knew as well as I that when threads like this on AA start that the meger will come up numurous times. Usually by the same people. I shouldn't have quoted you cause it wasn't really a jab I just picked one to quote. So what should I say? It gets worse after every time they win. It would probably be best if they lose this week.

Yeah it is classic. But you know what? I think it's funny too. Won't be many laughs when the playoffs get here. If nothing else We can play spoiler. Make fun of the Titans all you want. They will feed off of this all year long. They will have the last laugh. Be happy that AA is getting some attention this year. It's been considered the weakest class since Danville,Boyle, and Lexington Catholic left. Now all that was representing was the mountain teams, who are good but are not of the caliber of the three I mentioned. Thank goodness that this merger happened and central ky can revive AA once again so they will get some coverage on friday night lights.

Well, it's a good thing you will stay in 1A and another good thing is that Danville is moving up to 2A. You could throw in another school and still get thumped if Danville stayed in 1A.

Well, since Mercer does have the enrollment that takes two buildings to hold them all. And plus they will be playing in 5A next year. And I agree if I were one of the other AA teams I would definitely see this as an unfair advantage. Favorite Mercer Co Dark horse any team in the top 15

I think the top four are pretty close to each other. I don't think there is a clear cut consensus. I think within the next month when Boyle has it at the level they want that this will be one of the strongest areas in the state. Casey plays hard with the 28 players that they have. Mercer was playing alot of the JV in the second qtr but they did put that nice drive together early in the game. I think Garrard Co is a team that is getting better quickly with them playing so many young kids. They play with no fear and that bolds well for the future. I have always backed the area teams. Danville has always in the past made the area known for football. Lincoln had some very good teams in 90's. Then Boyle came on in the 90's as well and everybody knows the trail they burned through this state. I still to this day think that a couple of those Boyle teams were the best in the state over the Big guys in Louisville. Now Lincoln is back and Boyle is about to get back on track from their murderous schedule and Mercer and Harrodsburg uniting. This area will be stronger then ever. Good luck to everybody as we start district play.

This could be a low scoring game. I don't think Newport has allowed anyone to score more then 20 yet.

Yeah, I agree. This one has been spinning out of control. I'm curious to see how good Caldwell Co is.

Hey man. I understand why this may irk ya. Blocking is a must for any running game. But, Corey Jackson will make people say things like that. He is one of those fast kids that has that extra gear that I've seen and many coaches have commented on. I know Mccloud was a burner.

Why can't they be in the classroom together? That's news to me. Totally false by the way. One school. Two campus locations. Some of the Harrodsburg kids take most of their classes at the original Mercer High. I don't know where the classroom rumor got started but like I mentioned thats not true. All students had the option of which location they preferred to make the transition smoother. Noone would be denied.

Man, you get worked up too easy! I posted a pic on that thread. I wasn't trying to get your blood boiling or anyone elses,I started a thread just before about the top backs in the state and I thought maybe I would draw some attention for some of their opinions to be posted on my thread. I stated that I was just passing through. It was took the wrong way. I got thrashed with alot of angry replies. I responded the wrong way by posting somthing that I knew would make them mad. It was wrong of me and I apologized a couple of minutes later to everyone. You don't have to accept my apology. I'm not a spokesman for the Mercer Co Titans so the team shouldn't be accused of being arrogant. What other Mercer fans do you dislike besides me? You said they. I'm excited about the start of a new era in Titan football and that makes me seem to act like I think we are a 10 time defending champ? Like I said I'm a passionate sports fan who enjoys talking about his teams. I don't claim that the Titans are a lock for the title. Never have. Alot of people are unhappy about it due to this developing earlier in the year with plans being finalized for the new school. But outside of AA I don't know why anyone else would care this year. I know Somerset doesn't play Mercer this year So they wouldn't care. But getting back to the topic I believer Mercer is capable of winning a title.

Actually I am crazy. What's it to ya? Just kiddin. I guess I wasn't very clear in my posts. I slept 0 hours yesterday and enough with the enrollment talk. It is what it is. Nothing will be accomplished by arguing over it. I respect your opinions. No, it's not fair that Russell isn't getting any press and Mercer is a hot topic around the state whether it's positive or negative. Opening the #3 football complex in the state behind only Uk and UL has thrown Mercer into the spotlight as well. It's an unreal facility. This coming out of nowhere hasn't helped any either. Alot of ignorant accusations by some who seem to think that the whole Merge was due to football when that alone shows they know nothing about the situation that led to the merger.

I am one of those idiot fans. Nope, Mercer hasn't done nothing. I'm not going through the enrollment anymore. As watusi has said....that horse is dead. It does no good to argue that. Mercer plays where the KHSAA tells them. Fans like me do not speak for the Titans. They speak for themselves. They are fine young men. They don't go into visiting teams thinking they can do what they want though. They are a disciplined team due to the great coaching staff they have.

I'm sticking with my gut feeling. Boyle runs the table on the district and heads into the playoffs with a ton of confidence. Playing that tough schedule will pay off big time in the next month. Mark it down!

I'm not disrespecting. Newport has to tackle well. So does Mercer. It will be won up front no matter what. It was a great game last year. Keep your eyes on #2 for Mercer and you will see that speed I mentioned. If he is able to break one that is.

It may very well be a tight game. Who knows? The teams will decide that. The predictions are just for fun anyways. The real season begins this week. That's where you start sorting out the pretenders and contenders. Will Newport have a good crowd for this one?

Chuckle all you want. There team speed is awesome. Once they are in the seconday is when you are in trouble. If they get a step on you it's too late.

I post alot on the Mercer topics. But I've never said they would win it all. I like our chances as good as any. But, Just because I am pumped about this year and the future I will never say somthin like that. I may seem arrogant but, I'm not trying to be. With the merger and the new facilities the football team has it's hard not to be pumped right now. Who wants to be a paper champion? Mercer knows they will have to battle like everybody else.
